What headlight lenses are good for HIDs?

Question by cooliomcpimp: What headlight lenses are good for HIDs?

I have been looking around at projector lenses so I can use HIDs properly and not blind drivers. I have read online on several forums and review sites that Spec – D and Spyder both are bad and tend to have MAJOR design flaws. Examples are leaking / water holding lenses, no directions, bad wiring, and the Spyders even have been known to melt with high beams…. SO the big question is what are the best ones at an affordable price. I love ebay, but have had good and bad experience with it especially with LEDs and lighting.

Salmiakki from Finland (candy) and woollen sweater from Norway. I don’t know about Sweden or Norway, I think they don’t have much anything so “unique”. Except you could buy some meatballs from Sweden lol.

Q&A: Is advertising in National Tabloids a good idea?

consumer product recalls
by Public Citizen

Question by David S: Is advertising in National Tabloids a good idea?

Is advertising my website/business in tabloid magazines a good idea? I know it’s expensive but it goes out to millions of people, but is it a good place to advertise in lets say The National Enquirer, Sun, Globe, etc? Or is it money not worth spent?

Answer by kam6414
It would depend on what product you are selling. You will want to align your known consumers (demographics of people who actually use your product) to what kind of demographics that particular magazine has for its readership. If both are the same, then that is one thing to consider. Something else to consider is what is the cost per thousand you buying space in the magazine. (cost of ad space to reach only a thousand of its circulation) If it is too high, then pass until you can afford to really have placement. Another thing to consider is size, I would not recommend that you purchase space at a small size to just have an ad. It will be too small for people to notice and retain. And one more thing to consider is how many times can you afford to have ad placements? If you can not justify the cost to do it frequently, then it will not be as effective. When placing ads you need to consider reach (how many people read the publication that is actually your target demographic) everyone else is waste and frequency (how many times you will place an ad so that those people will see it and recall). Without both of these, you could waste money best spent on other things . As another option, some national magazines sell space regionally or by market- this can cut the cost down by a lot. Good Luck!

Looking for a pair of good over the ear headphones?

Question by DC: Looking for a pair of good over the ear headphones?

So my cousin got the beat by dre, they are the nicest things i have ever seen and heard. I love them so much but they are too expensive. I’m looking for a pair of headphones with great quality, a price of under 0, preferably around 70-80, and don’t look straight out stupid.

A good setting/location for a scene that would involve some sort of action?

Question by trs_shortie9: A good setting/location for a scene that would involve some sort of action?

For a drama class, we have to come up with a setting and then a set design for a scene. This scene will be a 10 minute improvisation of 2 characters talking. Wanted to have it set in a coffee shop but was told that something like that wouldn’t work because he doesn’t want to see the characters simply sitting for 10 minutes. Any ideas? I would really appreciate them.

God, how I hate stupid drama class assignments. A 10 minute improv? that’s longer than they do on Who’s Line Is It?
Do a robbery of the coffee shop, that’ll be full of “action” Sounds like another pin headed teacher who does not explain the assigments thoroughly enough, unless, of course, you did not pay attention.

There are many professional societies specifically for engineers and anyone working in specific areas or industries. IEEE, International Electrical and Electronic Engineering, is the largest engineering society in the world and covers a very diverse range of technologies, from power generation and transmission to semicondutors to automotive electronics and everything in between. ASM Intl (fka American Society for Metals) is for professionals in metals and materials industries, primarily metals but also polymers and covers extractive metallurgy thru to failure analysis, tons of technical information on alloy chemistry, mechanical/physical properties/corrosion, applications from aerospace to medical devices. and many others… SME, Society for Manufacturing Engineers. ASQ, American Society for Quality. AWS, American Welding Society.

Are you good with probability Questions?10 points and more?

Question by Emperor: Are you good with probability Questions?10 points and more?

This is my last problem and I’m not sure how to solve this:
A large consumer company ran a television advertisement for one of its soap products. On the basis of a survey that was conducted, probabilities were assigned to the following events.
B=individual purchased the product
S=individual recalls seeing the advertisement
B?S=individual purchased the product and recalls seeing the advertisement
The probabilities assigned were
P(B)=.20
P(S)=.40
P(B?S)=.12
a.)What is the probability of an individual’s purchasing the product given that the individual recalls seeing the advertisement?Does seeing the advertisement increase the probability that the individual will purchase the product? As a decision maker, would you recommend continuing the advertisement(assuming that the cost is reasonable)?

b.)Assume the individuals who do not purchase the company’s soap product buy from its competitors. What would be your estimate of the company’s market share?Would you expect that continuing the advertisement will increase the company’s market share? Why or why not?

c.)The company also tested another advertisement and assigned it values of P(S)=.30 and P(B?S)=.10. What is P(B/S) for this other advertisement?Which advertisement seems to have had the bigger effect on customer purchases?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Free computer help and Spanish help if you help me out with this. That is if you ever need it.And your ten points of course.:)
Thank you Isaac. I appreciate it.

Answer by Isaac N
P[B/S] = P[B and S] / P[S]

This is about all you need to do the problem. For the first question, I got that the probability of an individual purchasing the product given that the individual recalls seeing the advertisement is 0.3.

It’s interesting how you might interpret this result. We know that if a person “recalls” seeing the advertisement, that this increases the probability of the person purchasing the soap from 0.2 to 0.3. However, that does not mean that if a person saw the advertisement that it increases the probability of them purchasing the soap.

There may be people that saw the advertisement and forgot about it. Chances are, this demographic is less likely to purchase the soap because they found its advertisement forgettable. Therefore, it may even out, and the probability of a person purchasing the soap, given that the person has seen the advertisement (regardless of whether they remember it), might not increase.

So the calculations are easy, but interpretation of the results might be complicated.

Personally, I would give the following answers:

Seeing the advertisement does not necessarily increase the probability of the person purchasing the soap. I therefore cannot reccomend whether or not to continue the advertisement.

In the second question, I would estimate the market share to be 20%, assuming that everyone buys soap. If competitors also run advertisements, then it is not clear whether continuing advertisements will increase market share, though it may keep it from decreasing.

In the third question, P[B/S] = 0.33, so it seems that the second advertisement had a bigger effect. However, this is not necessarily the case because we again do not know the behavior of the people who saw the advertisement and forgot about it.
