Salmiakki from Finland (candy) and woollen sweater from Norway. I don’t know about Sweden or Norway, I think they don’t have much anything so “unique”. Except you could buy some meatballs from Sweden lol.

Hi there- Norway is the only country I can really comment on- They don’t have much good wine there, but if you go to the Vinmonopol (state-run liquor store) you can find special apertifs made of solbaer (dark purple currants) or akevitt, a strong after-dinner drink derived from potatoes. As for shopping for gifts for women, this page: http://www.norway.com/brands/nearestbrand.asp?lang=44 might be helpful. It lets you know all the brands available in Norway. Many of these are Scandinavian or European, but there you can view things made exclusively in Norway on that page also, just to get ideas. One store called “Noa Noa” makes high quality bohemian womens’ clothing that I just adore. They are found a bit on mainland Europe. I think it’s an upscale Danish brand, and they have their own shops in the Oslo area. Norway is also famous for their Christmas decor, which you will see a lot of if you are traveling there in the coming months. Common Christmas gifts in Norway are textiles, ornaments, or hand-carved wooden pieces- these can make really nice authentic scandinavian gifts. Hope this helps, and have a good trip 🙂

I`m afraid you won`t find any good local wine in Scandinavia, only some made of other fruits. But if it has to be alcohol, I`d recommend the Danish Linie Aquavit or a wodka from Finland (or the Swedish “Absolut”) – be prepared that it is expensive!!
Handbags will also be hard to find if it has to be made in the north, but clothing or textiles are easier and of very high quality.
If you are going to visit the capitals, you will most likely find plenty of local stuff, but of course a lot of it is just trash. I have been to Stockholm often, they have a tourist information center (Sweden House) downtown with a lot of quality goods, highly recommendable. I do recall something similar from Copenhagen, but its has been 14 years since I`ve been there. In Helsinki there is a very elegant little shopping center opposite the cathedral, where you can buy typically Finnish souvenirs.
    Good luck and have fun!
