An infomercial for Kevin Trudeau’s Mega Memory System claimed that scientific studies of his system showed that it could help anyone achieve a photographic memory, even people with learning disabilities or low IQ’s. “Kevin Trudeau’s breakthrough techniques were developed while working with blind and mentally handicapped students,” the infomercial said. “Their recall ability increased from 15% to 90% in just 5 days,” it said, and stated that the techniques were “. . . guaranteed to work for you.” In fact, the FTC alleges, the memory system would not enable users to achieve a photographic memory, and the advertising claims were false.

To settle the FTC charges, Kevin Trudeau, who developed and appeared in all the infomercials, including the one for his “Mega Memory System,” will pay 0,000 in consumer redress and will be barred from making false claims for the products in the future.

I believe in evolution, cause and effect and I accept most of the mainstream theories of theoretical physics just as much as any scientist. I also believe that intelligent design is a possibility. How does evolution disprove God?
Most of the out spoken atheist have a knee jerk reaction to that theory. They also claim they believe in science but most physists actually believe in God or are agnostics. The angry atheist also claim science uses verifiable facts. That’s wrong. Parallel universe, multiple dimension and most of quantum physics theories haven’t been proven except through reason. There is also reason behind intelligent design. The big one is ‘we’re here’. I’m tired of the Angry atheist kindergarten arguments for why they don’t believe in the possibility of God. Grow up. Comparing leprechauns and Santa clause to a god that created the universe?

entropy-rythm. Suspension of reason (faith) is another assumption atheists make. I have never given up on reason. I never would have finished college or been able to do my jobs in science if I had. Also, Everyone has faith. Everytime you get in your car you are having faith that your brakes wont give out.
every scientist has faith that their collegues results are corrects. They wouldn’t be able to continue their research if they were checking all the thousands of others research.

As soon as you say “intelligent design” you lose all scientific credibility. If design is intelligent then how come hair is growing out of my ears? What sort of fool designed that?

It might be comforting and reassuring to think that somebody created us and is looking out for us but science has no opinion about whether this is in fact the case.

I loooove using my “healthy shots” cucumber balancing mini-facial cream by mark because it makes my pores disappear and my face feel soft and refreshed, but they stoped selling it so I want to find a product similiar to it.

Any kind of product that gets rid of your pores and makes your skin soft basically. If it helps acne too that would be good but I dont really NEED anything for acne it’d be nice though if it helped that too.

There’s a reason why they stopped selling a certain product. They’re not selling well, they’ve been recalled because many people have complained of allergies. I’m pretty sure, they’ll turned up on eBay, and the FDA can not control online sales.

The less products you use, the better for your skin. Treat your face like your skin. Use Bath wash like Suave Bath & Body Gel, use a washcloth. Treat your face like the rest of your body, take a shower everyday or wash your face everyday.

The secret is keeping your face clean and oil-free.

Acne medication could worsen what ever allergies you have, so instead of trying out one product after another, you’re actually spreading it around. Example: ProActiv contains a known carcinogen, at a percentage known to promote skin cancer.

We’re getting ready to build our home and we want a house layout where the kitchen is in the front of our home. I have looked at dozens of floor layouts and all of them have the kitchen in the back corner of the house.
Any ideas, anyone have the kitchen in the front?
I’m sure our home builder can help with this… but I’m starting to wonder if this is a stupid idea.
The reason we want this is because the way our house will face, the sun rises on the front right corner, and that is where I want the kitchen. We can’t turn the face of the house for other reasons…

Windows are one reason. From the street, the front of the house usually has the largest windows, into the living areas.

Kitchens, as they maximize counter space, usually only have smaller windows above counter height — which aren’t as visually pleasing from the outside. Working around upper cabinets, plumbing, ventilation, wires, etc. also limits the size, number and placement of windows.

Also, as the kitchen tends to be a work area, it is not as welcoming from the front door — imagine greeting guests at the door, and the first thing they see is an overflowing trash can, dirty dishes, the dog-bowl, and the rumpled dishtowels hanging over the oven door.

So, builders, in designing gracious entry areas, will put the kitchen in the back.

When will the US learn that Chinese manufactorers don’t care about us? This Courious George recall is just another example of what they think of the US consumer. Use cheap materials, who cares? As long as the toy is cheap, their happy… As for Mattell, the only way they will learn is to bring charges against those in charge of product safety & standards for endangering lives. I bet it would only need to happen once…

It was airing in recent weeks. In particular, one stewardess is seated next to the pilot, then turns her head to her right, facing you (the camera).
They are dressed in dark blue(?) uniforms, I think.

Anyone happen to know which commercial that is?

And yes, I realize this is a silly question, but thanks for looking anyway.

So many vestigial organs, our spine is not well DESIGNED for upright walking, we have useless wisdom teeth, most of us have bad eyesight that only gets worse in age and we have a tail bone.
We’re only one of the species that God completely dropped the ball on. God DESIGNED the baleen whale with a pelvis and femur as if it was supposed to walk on the land sometime before. That’s ridiculous!

In short, WTF was God thinking?
Creationsim argument comes down to an insult. Wish they could think up, oh I don’t know, EVIDENCE! Too bad their limited brain doesn’t allow them to do so.
