Pet food recall are you using this product?

Question by : Pet food recall are you using this product?

Procter and Gamble has recalled various types of dry pet food because they could be contaminated with salmonella. The recall includes certain Iams dry dog and cat foods and Eukanuba dog foods.

The affected product was sent to retailers across the United States. All of them were made at a single P&G manufacturing site within a 10-day period.

Pets infected with salmonella may be lethargic and have diarrhea and vomiting. Pets carrying the illness can pass it on to humans. People infected with salmonella may experience nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and fever. Anyone with these symptoms should contact their health-care provider.

No salmonella-related illnesses from the pet food have been reported so far.

Consumers who purchased a recalled product should stop using it and contact P&G toll free at 800-208-0172 (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET).

What is the major product when concentrated HBr reacts with prop-2-en-1-ol?

product design flaws
by Wootang01

Question by Gahan: What is the major product when concentrated HBr reacts with prop-2-en-1-ol?

My answer is OH group is substituted by Br and also addition of HBr according to Marckownikoff Rule will give me 1,2-dibromopropane.

But the correct answer is : 3-bromoprop-1-ene which means the region of double bond will remain unsaturated and only -OH substitution by -Br will occur.

This is what I am not getting. Help with explanation really needed.

Best answer:

Answer by Mark Collins
I would suspect the question given was only aimed to test you on nucleophilic substitution, and completely neglected the possibility of electrophilic addition. I believe this is a design flaw while the question was prepared.

However, if you insist the answer is correct, it may be explained by the negative inductive effect of the halogen atom (bromine) decreasing the electron density at the double bond, rendering it less susceptible to electrophilic attack. However, I am uncertain if the decrease in the electron density due to negative inductive effect alone is sufficient to inhibit electrophilic attack by electrophiles. I severely doubt that the extent of negative inductive effect of bromine atoms alone is sufficient to inhibit electrophilic attack by electrophiles. Even if that is true, given the hydrobromic acid used is concentrated, it should be enough to raise the rate of electrophilic addition.

Your answer is most likely correct.

Inner Product Spaces (Linear Algebra)?

Question by HIYA: Inner Product Spaces (Linear Algebra)?

A vector space is valid on the interval (0, pi) with the inner product (f,g) in V. Consider the integral
S f(x)g(x) dx on the interval [0, pi]. Prove that cosx and sinx are orthogonal.

Best answer:

Answer by Lake R
You’re mangling the problem statement. What you are apparently asking about is a vector space of continuous functions on an interval with the usual inner product.

Recall that two vectors are orthogonal if their inner product is zero. So just integrate. (cos(x), sin(x)) =

?
? cos(x)sin(x) dx = ½sin²(?) – ½sin²(0) = 0.
0

That’s it.

Q&A: What is the recent product you put into your dishwasher to clean the lines of mineral deposits?

Question by ?Jackie Blue?: What is the recent product you put into your dishwasher to clean the lines of mineral deposits?

I have heard of a recent product on a tv commercial that is recommended you put in your dishwasher to remove lime and calcium deposits. I can’t recall what it is or where to buy it. Anyone know or have any ideas on how to take care of the mineral buildup without calling a repairman? Thanks.

Save your money and use white vinegar. Dump a couple of cups of white vinegar in the bottom of the machine after it’s started filling with hot water. Let it start to “wash” and shut it off for 1/2 hour or so. Then turn it back on and let it complete the cycle.

If you do this on a monthly basis, it’s good, cheap, and keeps your dishwasher working at it’s best.

Can I use fake product designs in my professional graphic design portfolio?

Question by GraphicMinded: Can I use fake product designs in my professional graphic design portfolio?

In class our teacher had us design “products” for companies that really exist. These companies did not use these fictious products. I am now putting together my design portfolio and want to know if I can use these designs, or if it incorrectly implies that I’ve had these big compaines as clients.

How does the burning of salmonella from the beginning egg product affect the egg whites that are sold?

Question by David: How does the burning of salmonella from the beginning egg product affect the egg whites that are sold?

I read that eggs that were recalled would be burned down and used for just egg whites. Is there any chance the product that is left behind would affect our bodies in any way? (I.e. digestion issues, buildup, etc.) I thought about this, since egg whites are so healthy when digested, is salmonella?

Best answer:

Answer by Zoo Rulz
the egg whites will be sterilized – like in making of mayonaise

Product Review HPE 87 (TKL Mechanical Keyboard Alt To Blackwidow TE, Filco, PLU, CM Quickfire)

A hands on user review of the HPE87. (Clone similar to PLU or Filco) This is a TKL (Ten Key Less) keyboard layout giving you extra space where the numberpad used to be. The keyboard is fully mechanical with Cherry MX switches. You can choose from MX Red, MX Black, MX Blue, and MX Brown switches. The switches are plate mounted witch makes the keyboard heavy and very robust. Build quality in and out is very high, no signs of a cheap product or any design flaws. Its a nice matte finish so it does not attract fingerprints. The Keycaps are standard ABS plastic and laser etched, this is standard for keyboards unless you pay a premium for PBT keys or other labeling methods. Since the keys are standard size & layout you CAN replace the keycaps with custom ones should you desire. How to get one? Easy you can order from here and they ship world wide! www.vendio.com This is a trusted store and where the very one I am reviewing came from, the owner of this shop is well known in the keyboard community at sites like GeekHack. I can very easily recommend this product as an alternative to any of the more well known brands, if you want to enter into the mechanical keyboard market without making a huge investment upfront this will be a safe way to do so. Hope you enjoyed the review, if you have any questions feel free to ask. PS Thumbs up to say thanks and subscribe if you want more content/reviews!

Can a consignment shop sell you a product that had a recall issue?

product recall
by Chu?

Question by greekbrit: Can a consignment shop sell you a product that had a recall issue?

I bought a toddler bed back in June of last year. I was getting it ready to sell and decided to google it to find a better photo. Discovered that it had a recall issue back in 05.Contacted the consignment shop that I bought it from and she said that I should have checked on it when I bought it.It being a toddler bed, I would have never thought of anything being wrong. She then told me that she is not held liable and that it was my responsibility. I have ordered the right part, but I still feel that she should have not sold it to me in the first place. What do you think?
Also, if this is not the case. . .then how come a consignment shop can get in-trouble for selling a recall crib, toys, and car seats?

Best answer:

Answer by ?Pardonne Moi?
It is just like buying from a garage sale. Buyer beware.
