*** Valco Ion Stroller (MAJOR DESIGN FLAW !!!)

We took our baby out for a walk with the Valco Ion baby stroller, and on the 5th time, when suddenly, the stroller collapsed!!! Luckily I was able to hold the stroller when it happened so it did not totally tip over with our baby in it. My wife quickly took our 3 month out of the stroller while I was holding the stroller from tipping over. Took the stroller home and this is the defect that I have found… it appears the clipping mechanism at the base wore off and it no longer locks the bracket in place, major design flaw!!! Imagine this happened to your stroller when you are crossing a major intersection, or entering/exiting an elevator or worse, a subway train?

Arnie Gundersen, chief nuclear engineer from Fairewinds and Associates explains the venting design flaw in Fukushima and other nuclear plants. Arnie Gundersen explains how containment vents were added to the GE Mark 1 BWR as a “band aid” 20 years after the plants built in order to prevent an explosion of the notoriously weak Mark 1 containment system. Obviously the containment vent band aid fix did not work since all three units have lost containment integrity and are leaking radioactivity. Gundersen also discusses seismic design flaws, inadequate evacuation planning, and the taxpayer supported nuclear industry liability fund. Q&A: Why are there so many stupid question on Y!A regarding race?

Question by Little Miss Chatterbox: Why are there so many stupid question on Y!A regarding race?

Why are there so many stupid questions on here which are deliberately designed to offend people? I was just looking around and I came across too many questions saying things like “Why do blacks want to become criminals/gangsters?” or “Why are white people always fishing for compliments?”, those are just a few of what I’ve found. What are these people’s problems? Why do they feel the need to be so ignorant, disrespectful and immature to each other? How can they not see that these stupid questions are not productive in society?

Sorry to say that’s y/a for ya. There’s a lot of children of all ages at this site. Many of the intelligent ones don’t come here anymore for that reason and others.

I hope you stay around a while. We could use more people saying it like it is for real.

Question by Anne R: Is there a software program or website for correcting (not just spotting) xhtml errors in website design?

I’ve used online validators to identify the errors in my site, but I’m looking for something that can actually correct them. Thanks.

Well, the computer can’t know what you mean if you don’t write valid code… If you want it to /guess/, see HTML Tidy (http://tidy.sourceforge.net/). Again, sometimes it will guess wrong and sometimes it won’t know what the problem is.

CPGear – KISS Rig – Product Review

www.cpgear.com Based on the premise of Murphys Law (what can go wrong, will go wrong), the design team wanted to put together a simple, no frills rig that could withstand the abuse of an extended deployment, and whose design philosophy was based on the tried and true Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS) acronym. The rig features a split front design which allows it to be easily put on, and taken off. 10 channels of MOLLE webbing on each panel allows for tremendous flexibility in configuring the desired load-out. All the plastic hardware on the KISS Rig is configured so that it can be quickly and easily replaced in the field in the event of breakage. Flap closed internal map pockets eliminate the Velcro hand/knuckle chafe points that is common with other similar rigs. 1.5 web and hardware on the shoulder straps can be easily swapped out for a padded harness (ie Tactical Tailor X-Harness, SO Tech Hellcat Harness, etc.) if the user desires. Constructed of durable Cordura nylon, mil-spec webbing and hardware. Made in Canada by CP Gear and backed by a 5-year warranty.

Ultimately isn’t consumers responsible (good or bad) for the products they buy? Why or why not?

Question by care4ub0y: Ultimately isn’t consumers responsible (good or bad) for the products they buy? Why or why not?

I read a lot about recalls and complaints about the products that are recalled. But even after all the recent recalls and publicity many consumers continue to buy, I guess because of the prices. But if you are going to buy cheaper, how can you complain when the quality is not as good as it was before so much manufacturing was outsourced and quality was much betterwith cheaper labor and way lower safeguards. What gets me… someone can complain but continues to buy the products. It seems to me if their pets or children die because of it, they are ultimately responsible. Many people won’t like to hear this (IT’S A BITTER PILL TO SWALLOW!!! – I guess because passing the blame takes the burden of guilt away) but it is the truth, otherwise their loved one(s) wouldn’t have access to the products anyway! Is cheaper better when it risks the lives and health of those that are precious (pets and children)? I’ve heard that recalled items are showing up in thrift stores and on ebay.com!

Say I go out and buy a toy for my toddler. Am I supposed to have it tested for lead and all the other crap it would be made out of if it wasn’t regulated? IF we didn’t insist on regulation by the makers of these products, companies would take every dangerous and cheap shortcut they could to produce. That’s not the kind of world we want to live in. There should be regulation on the producers so they do not take these dangerous kind of shortcuts just to make money. The average person doesn’t have the ability to test everything they get to make sure it’s safe. Think about it.
