Q&A: Product recall GE gas dryer igniter?

product recall
by Chaymation

Question by bobbo: Product recall GE gas dryer igniter?

We bought a GE gas dryer from Sears in 2004. We have already replaced the igniter twice . We used Sears repair and they are very expensive and always require two trips. Now the igniter is not working again. It seems like a faulty product to us. Any one else have this problem?
Thanks for the response (from sonnyb). It is so true that companies make it impossible to get a response to a complaint. No address, no phone number for a responsible person, and a web “contact” that is useless for a complaint.

No Apologies – Shockingly Stupid

The first of my new animated series, “No Apologies”. It’s a comedic look at the outright dishonesty of apologists and others who spread religion as truth, as well as the downright ridiculousness of religion in general. While I am just having a bit of fun here, it should not take away from the seriousness of the harm that these individuals do, and do to real people. Some future episodes will take a more serious approach, but sometimes we just need to have a little fun. Let’s have it alongside some of the largest clowns I know of. So sit back, have a few laughs, and enjoy. Is there a class action lawsuit against Chrystler because of their cars’ theft design flaws?

Question by Steve J: Is there a class action lawsuit against Chrystler because of their cars’ theft design flaws?

My car has been stolen twice. They get in with a screw driver, break the PLASTIC steering column, and drive away using a stick. Every CHRYSTLER has this flaw. Even the new ‘300’s. they have done nothing to fix this problem. My friend works with troubled youth and he even over heard them talking about how they can drive away with a chrystler with only a stick. these kids aren’t even 16 yet. this is a serious design flaw that they still haven’t corrected.

Best answer:

Answer by Perry F
Did Honda ever correct their flaws, like starting one up with a filed down Chrysler key, or the ease of pulling back on the frame less window, NO
What about the early GM column that can be broken apart and started w/ a screwdriver, NO
Sorry I think you can’t fault a manufacturer for not designing a car that cannot be stolen 100% of the time.
BTW I understand that even if you can get the steering wheel unlocked, if the transmitter is not active then the theft module will not allow the engine to stay running, so I think your off on this one.

Did everyone hear about the latest toy recall?

Question by Deborah P: Did everyone hear about the latest toy recall?

http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml09/09136.html

“Various Toys Recalled by CBB Group Due to Choking Hazard and Violation of Lead Paint Standard
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
Name of product: Fishing Games, Rattles, Pull-A-Long Cars, Mini Pull Back Cars, and Cartoon Bubble Guns

Units: About 39,000

Importer/Distributor: CBB Group Inc., City of Commerce, Calif.

Hazard: The fishing games, baby rattles and pull-a-long cars contain small parts, which can detach and pose a choking hazard to children. The mini pull back cars and bubble guns have surface paints which contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.”

This is CRAZY..Shouldn’t they have more testing on toys like this?? What are your thoughts on the crazy amounts of lead in our child(s) toys??

REUPLOAD. Sorry about this guys, but I just can’t seem to let these videos go, it sucks that I had to delete them because of stupid AudioSwap. The music I had blasting along the designs is copyrighted by others, it’s not my own work, so if I want to get partnered, I have to get partnered using my OWN work, not others. So I’m re-uploading these all over, but this time instead of using AudioSwap, I’ll use my own voice as commentary, I’ll make them better than what they were in the beginning. Long Term Wear-and-tear is What Causes Engine Failure

Buying a vehicle is an expensive purchase.  It’s not like buying a toaster that you can just throw away and replace at a moments notice.  So, when you make an investment like owning a vehicle, you want it to work well and last as long as possible.

Have you ever driven past a disabled vehicle and felt lucky that it wasn’t you?  Have you ever wondered how much longer your car was going to last until it started having engine trouble?  To repair an engine can cost hundreds even thousands of dollars.

Engine breakdown is no joke and the main causes for the wear and tear on your vehicle’s engine are: Poor engine lubrication, and unburnt fuel deposits in the engine.

In Order to comply with the Environmental Protection Agency’s mandates to lower emissions, fuel manufacturers have removed lead and added oxygenates to fuel.  Even though fuel manufacturers have made advances, although it’s only because they were made to and they only do the minimum in order to meet the requirements, there remains in the fuel that you use today harmful deposits that tend to soak up fuel and cause performance problems.

The best way to safeguard your engine is to use something that naturally lubricates the inside walls of the combustions chamber and decreasing those deposits.

One way to decrease harmful deposits is to purchase premium gasoline.  It’s a cleaner gasoline and therefore doesn’t contain as many of those deposits.  But it does carry a pretty steep price tag and may not be worth the added expense.

There are alternatives to using premium gasoline but you will need to have a willingness to fight back against high fuel prices and the big oil companies in order to find them.  I can almost guarantee that the auto manufactures aren’t going to be willing to take money from their pockets in order to share their secrets with you.

You could use fuel additives that supposedly clean those deposits but they haven’t proven to be very effective either.  I do know of at least one product that can increase the life of your vehicle by reducing engine wear and tear.  I know I know it sounds impossible but what if there really was a way that you could reduce engine deposits each and every time you fill up?

There is this amazing product on the market right now that is very simple to use and it removes sulfur and carbon deposits so that your vehicle runs cleaner.  Prolonging the life of your vehicle, keeping it running smoother and quieter.

Chrysler recall postcard in the mail- just a ploy to get people into the shop?

Question by Crystal Sunshine: Chrysler recall postcard in the mail- just a ploy to get people into the shop?

I received in the mail a postcard about my car having a product recall and the name of a local Chrysler shop to get the item replaced free of charge. Is this some ploy to get people into the garage so they can find other “problems” with the car or is this legit?
Hmm, true but the last thing people want to hear is a bunch of other problems with the car and it seems every time there’s a list of issues.

Best answer:

Answer by Vipassana
And how would that ploy work?

They can’t force you to do anything with your car.

So it’s not like they’re getting money out of you.

And if they find things, and you decide to ignore it, and it causes problems later….then they can just say “told you so…”

Edit: That’s funny, because when I take my cars in for repairs, I don’t get a list of issues. Because I take care of my car, and make sure there’s nothing that it could need.

What you can always do is take the car to a second mechanic, and if they give you the same list of things…..they’re not trying to get money out of you, they’re trying to get you to maintain your vehicle better.
