Design 1: Spinda Lv.X
REUPLOAD. Sorry about this guys, but I just can’t seem to let these videos go, it sucks that I had to delete them because of stupid AudioSwap. The music I had blasting along the designs is copyrighted by others, it’s not my own work, so if I want to get partnered, I have to get partnered using my OWN work, not others. So I’m re-uploading these all over, but this time instead of using AudioSwap, I’ll use my own voice as commentary, I’ll make them better than what they were in the beginning. Spinda Lv.X….my most nostalgic card 🙂

Do Walk in Bathtubs Have Design Flaws?

Not all walk-in bathtubs are created equal. Without realizing it many walk in bathtub manufacturers have created their products with design flaws. Purchasers need to be aware of those design flaws.
Step in height
This is a safety issue. Most walk in bath tubs have a high step into the tub of 6 to 7 inches. This height is actually dangerous for people with limited mobility. The reason they buy a walk in bathtub is because they can’t climb stairs or take large steps. Remember the purpose of the walk in bathtub is making bathing possible for those who cannot get in or out of a regular bathtub.
Tile Flange
A tile flange is the lip that extends above the bath tub by about an inch and a half. This allows the finishing material (tile, tub surround, etc) to hang over the lip to protect the drywall backing from getting wet and deteriorating. Most building codes require a tile flange. Many walk in bathtub manufacturers have neglected to add a tile flange to their bathtubs.
Bathtub size
Bigger is not always better. While manufacturers’ attempt to impress would-be purchasers by the size of their bathtubs, there are two things to keep in mind. If you are putting your bathtub in an existing bathroom it needs to fit, not only in the bathroom, but through the door. Secondly, the larger the size, the more water the bathtub will hold, making for a longer fill and drain time. Some people think that they want a bathtub where they can be immersed in water. That’s a great idea; but think how long it would take to fill and drain that tub while you sit inside waiting – that’s why such a bathtub does not exist. Remember too that when sitting in a traditional bathtub, your body is never immersed so why would you expect it to be in a walk in bathtub.

Burglary is not a new phenomenon. It has been around for as long as man can remember, although electrical house alarms are a fairly recent development. As technologies and the needs of homeowners change, home security systems have evolved to include more convenient features, dependable designs and better coverage. If your system is dated, there is no better time to upgrade and take advantage of the latest features.

Surf’s Up is an animated documentary that delves behind the scenes of the high-octane world of competitive surfing. The film profiles teenage Rockhopper penguin Cody Maverick (Shia LaBeouf), an up-and-coming surfer, as he enters his first pro competition. Followed by a camera crew to document his experiences, Cody leaves his family and home in Shiverpool, Antarctica to travel to Pen Gu Island for the Big Z Memorial Surf Off. Cody believes that winning will bring him the admiration and respect he desires, but when he unexpectedly comes face-to-face with a washed-up old surfer named Geek (Jeff Bridges), Cody begins to find his own way, and discovers that a true winner isn’t always the one who comes in first.

Question by im frowning upside down 🙂: question about graphic design- where do i start?
how do i start? do you know of any good tutorials online? aslo, would it be really stupid if i went to college and knew nothing about how to start graphic design, if that i wanna be a graphic designer?
Best answer:
Answer by gitter1226
No, going to college isn’t stupid. It’s arguably an even better idea if you don’t know where to start. Graphic design is 80% imagination and creativity. Going to college can give you many things, including a degree, a foot in the door, and a good tool set that you can use in your career.

Is it safe to post a design project on Kickstarter before getting a patent?
Question by Eric E: Is it safe to post a design project on Kickstarter before getting a patent?
I have designed a certain invention that I would like to patent soon but don’t have the funding. Would it be stupid to go on Kickstarter.com and post this project before I get legal rights to it so I could then get the proper funding to patent it?
Best answer:
Answer by ron_mexico
In the U.S., publication of your invention on a website will start a one-year clock in which to file for patent protection. After the one-year clock has past, you will lose any rights to the invention.
This one year grace period is limited to the U.S. and a few other countries. Most foreign countries have an absolute bar. That is, once you disclose your invention on a website, you will immediately lose any rights to your invention in those countries.

What action should I take against bogus design consultant?
Question by sissytwo: What action should I take against bogus design consultant?
I was contacted by a man who obtained my phone # from a Home Remodeling Show about some windows. He doesn’t have a license, but business cards printed “Design Consultant” saying he does windows & more. He came to my house measured for windows, got paid 1/2 the money & also constracted w/me to do a bathroom. He hires people rather than do the work himself. There were & are still problems w/the bathroom job, but as that was being done he said he didn’t have enough money to finish the jobs & asked me to pay him the remaining money. Well STUPID me, I did!! Now I have an unfinished bathroom & no windows. He met w/the death of his wife & I have tried to wait for him to come through. This all began in late July/Aug. & now it’s April & he never mentions finishing the bathroom, & goes for weeks w/out any mention of the window installation. I don’t know what I can do if anything. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Answer by Joe M
It sounds like you pretty well got screwed.
There is nothing wrong with him contracting out the work to other (hopefully qualified) people.
However if you paid him half up front – and he is jerking you around, I would first report him to the better business bureau, and secondly demand that he refunds the money you have given him for work that was not done. If he refuses, you may need to take him to court (depending on the amount involved you might not be able to do small claims court – and you may want to lawyer up).
