How can I prevent my laptop hinges from cracking?
Question by Tarv: How can I prevent my laptop hinges from cracking?
I take good care of my MSI laptop, but I had to replace a 1.5 year old hinge after it cracked. Now the other hinge is coming apart also (2 years). I’ll get this hinge replaced too, but is there something I can do in the future to prevent this from happening? Products, tricks, secrets to laptop care, I’ll take any advice
and I have already heard that laptop hinges aren’t the greatest
specifically MSI laptop hinges
Best answer:

Try rubbing a little bit of vaseline into the hinge it just might lubricate it enough to help.

Will China face repercussions on a larger scale from all of the recalls?
Question by : Will China face repercussions on a larger scale from all of the recalls?
Will our appetite for goods made in China lessen after all of these findings or will we as Americans keep going with our insataible need for cheaply manufactured goods? I for one am trying to avoid all products made in China though it is a hard thing to do. What say you all?
Best answer:
Answer by Mental Rabbi
China pays it labor force much less than the Americans.
The Americans will continue to buy Chinese products, even though they are tainted with lead or even poison just to save a few pennies.
Then, when their child dies, they will try to sue for millions.

Q&A: How can I get my money back on the recall for the Toy Tool set from Black & Decker?
Question by Melanie N: How can I get my money back on the recall for the Toy Tool set from Black & Decker?
My son received a Christmas gift of a Huge set of Toy Black & Decker tools. When I tried to return the duplicate (toy set) at Target, I was told there was no value and the toy was recalled. I was not provided any information about this toy and would like to know, why it was recalled and how to get my money back?
Best answer:
Answer by cuddly toy
If there was a recall Target should have been able to provide you with that information. As retailers receive information sheets to give consumers instructions on what to do with recalled products.
I did some research but couldn’t find any recall info for and B&D branded toys just appliances. So I would recommend contacting Target, the CPSC or CDI toys to see if you can get more information and proper instruction.

Can you tell off-brand products from the brand name ones?
Question by actormyk: Can you tell off-brand products from the brand name ones?
And what I mean by this is, if you are shopping and a store brand of peanut butter is right beside the Jif, but it’s in the same shaped can and the same color coded lid for creamy and crunchy, can you be fairly safe in assuming that Jif is in there with a generic or store brand label? I don’t mind some generic brands, but there are some foods I’d just as soon pay a little more to get the name brand on the label. But if the same product is in the container right beside it but with a less expensive label on it, then I’ll get the off-brand. Thanks.
Best answer:
Answer by Ty’sGirl
okay where do u think the offbrands get their products or groceries or whatever they are called it all comes from the same place it just has a diff. brand on it.
so when you pay more for a certain kind of brand ur just buying the name..

Q&A: What is missing from this Conservative bias “News”report?
Question by jl_jack09: What is missing from this Conservative bias “News”report?
By LARA JAKES JORDAN, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON – The earliest official report of a New Orleans levee breach came at 8:30 a.m., hours after Hurricane Katrina roared ashore. Word of the possible breach surfaced at the White House less than three hours later, at 11:13 a.m.
In all, 28 federal, state and local agencies reported levee failures on Aug. 29, according to a time line of e-mails, situation updates and weather reports that Senate Democrats say raise questions about whether the government moved quickly enough to rescue storm victims from massive flooding.
The documents were released in advance of a Senate hearing Friday at which Michael Brown, the former head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency was set to testify.
Brown is widely considered the public face of the government’s sluggish response to Katrina. But he signaled earlier this week that he was prepared to discuss his storm communications with Bu$h and other top White House officials — a possible signal that his testimony would assign blame elsewhere.
The White House has barred some top advisers and staffers from answering Senate investigators’ questions about the administration’s response, saying that certain discussions and documents must remain confidential. But Brown, who quit FEMA shortly after the storm and left the federal payroll Nov. 2, is no longer covered by that confidentiality protection.
White House spokesman Trent Duffy said the president and his top aides were fully aware of the massive flooding — and less concerned whether it was caused by levee breaches, over toppings or failed pumps, all three of which were being reported at the time.
“We knew there was flooding and that’s why the No. 1 effort in those early hours was on search and rescue, and saving life and limb,” Duffy said.
Shortly after the disaster, Bush said, “I don’t think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees.” He later said his comment was meant to suggest that there had been a false sense of relief that the levees had held when the storm passed, only to break a few hours later.
The Bush administration has said it knew definitively early Tuesday, Aug. 30, the day after the storm, that the levees had been breached, based on an Army Corps of Engineers assessment.
Democrats said the documents showed there was little excuse for the tardy federal response.
“The first communication came at 8:30 a.m.,” said Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn., top Democrat on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. “So it is inexplicable to me how those responsible for the federal response could have woken up Tuesday morning unaware of this obviously catastrophic situation.”
The first internal White House communication about levee failures came at 11:13 a.m. on Aug. 29 in a “Katrina Spot Report” by the White House Homeland Security Council.
“Flooding is significant throughout the region and a levee in New Orleans has reportedly been breached sending 6-8 feet of water throughout the 9th ward area of the city,” the internal report said.
Hint, just listened to a town meeting on radio, there they said “the Government does not have the legal power to order a mandatory evacuation” I clearly read on “miserable failure” site that FEMA has the power to take all assets and enter your home. They also can arrest you on the spot, No charge, no lawyer. Where is the truth?
Another hint, there are 1,242 letters written to the Federals, some are about the poor condition of the levees. According to Michael Brown. All long before Katrina.

I am not going to play this game with you. The peole were told to get the he** out of New Orleans, buses lined up to pick them up, and people were refusing to go. The national news showed people dancing in the street of the French Quarter while the storm was making landfall. They were told days in advance that the storm would be devistating, and people wouldn’t listen. I live near Lafayette, and I had plans to make my family safe in case the storm turned our way.
