Do i need any minimum GCSE qualification in maths in order to enter into Graphic Design?
Question by ?Shiminy Cricket?: Do i need any minimum GCSE qualification in maths in order to enter into Graphic Design?
I know it sounds like a stupid question, but it seems that more and more jobs these days are requiring a minmum GCSE (usually C+) in Maths, English and Science.
Please help because this is my dream job but i absolutely suck at maths.
Thanks!

Nope. It’s a basic factory job. Mostly production. The most important qualification is staying up to date on your software, printing standards, and basic coding practices.
Ten years ago it was a great field. These days there is not much work to be found, and you will enerally be treated badly by employers because there are so many candidates that they can just shop for the most compliant and the most willing to take low salaries.

Did God design humans to fail? How does a perfect creator create a flawed product?
Question by The Son of Man: Did God design humans to fail? How does a perfect creator create a flawed product?
A perfect creator would create a perfect product. Given the fact that we are flawed, what other conclusion is there than that the flaw was intentional?
If you’re going to drag in free will in answer to this question, try to at least build a semi-coherent argument around it.

Aha!! There is another explanation for a “perfect” Creator creating an imperfect creation.
HE ISNT PERFECT. Thus, isnt God.
Uh, Towlie – if Adam and Eve blew it, then they WERE NEVER PERFECT!

Is Computer Drafting and Design a good decision?
Question by sean o: Is Computer Drafting and Design a good decision?
I am looking at ITT tech for going back to college. I just want to get my major and get out so i dont spend too much money and dont have to worry about the time consumption. Would this be a good major? I like drawing and science so would this be a good choice for me or no??
Please help! Any comments (even stupid ones) would be helpful. I wont give anyone a thumbs down.

I would say yes. I am not sure if its the kind of major you think it is though. From my experience, computer drafting and design are the people that use AutoCAD, makes industrial designs for computer controlled machines that cut metals, makes blue prints for construction projects, and other industrial type applications.
If you are thinking of drawing, then thats more architecture, artist, type of deal.
I don’t think its an easy thing to be good at, but I am pretty sure that if you do get a job, you get paid well as there are not too many people with those skills.
Actually I just did a search and found this that describes it more:
“A Computer Drafting technician works with designers and engineers to convert their ideas and concepts for new products and designs into accurate drawings that specify size, shape, materials and specifications. These drawings are then used by professionals in manufacturing, consulting, and construction to produce the desired product or structure. Designs are created using computer aided drafting (CAD) equipment. Solid modeling and parametric concepts are introduced and utilized early in the program and throughout the curriculum. “

What features would you want from a lighting design?
Question by Ewen: What features would you want from a lighting design?
If you work in an office environment (or can imagine working in an office environment!), what would you want from the lighting that you use on a daily basis? This could be in the form of mechanical features, or simply what kind of artificial light source you want.
Please take time to answer this question. I would really like all your thoughts, even if you think they may sound stupid. Any input is valuable to me.
Cheers

I would want a feature that you can install in the ceiling as well as a floor lamp.
For the ceilinh fixture i would also like some sort of fan that goes with it as well.. a dimmer would be perfect and in the light fixture it would be nice to have a glass fixture with different colors so that it is sort of opaque and when u turn the light on it isnt as bright but still bright enough so that you can see.
if you go to google and search floor lamps in images you will see a ton of interresting floor lamps
i was once watching hgtv design star and this one guy made a lamp that was made of a thin copper pipe that he bolted to a brick wall and just a simple regular light bulb screwed in at the top witout a lampshade i thought that was a very interresting idea

Christians/believers? Have you heard of a variation of Intelligent Design theory that people call “SD theory”?
Question by Sevil Natas: Christians/believers? Have you heard of a variation of Intelligent Design theory that people call “SD theory”?
This is kinda how SD-theory goes:
1. Look at our universe! There have been so many failed galaxies, so many imploding stars, so many failed planets and solar systems destroyed by the forces and parameters that were apparently finely tuned so as to allow life to flourish.
2. Now look at our solar system, one of less than a dozen planets, the only one that we know of that has ever been hospitable to life. The other planets are simply too hot or cold to allow basic life to evolve let alone intelligent/conscious life that can form so called relationships with their creator, whom they presume cares for them and what they do and who they sleep with.
3. Now look at our planet. The only planet in our solar system that we know for certain has life. A planet in a galaxy in the deep corner of the univers. 90% of all life forms that have ever existed on this planet of ours have become extinct and failed to flourish. The majority of the planet is entirely inhospitable to life. Life forms only exist sparsely on the surface of the earth.
4. And for those who think Darwinian evolution is compatible with god, take a look at our human evolutionary history. Modern humans have been around for 100-200 thousand years. In the early periods in Africa, humans would have lived to 25 years only, because there was no medicine, very harsh climates, warefare, famine, theft and predators etc… Then suddenly after watching all of this SIN for 98000 years, their creator decides that he shall somehow “save his creations” by impregnating a jewish woman who will give birth to his “son”, who will be crucified in an ugly and sadistic bloody fashion, then rise back to heaven…… and this is supposed to all make it better.
5. And apparently this so called “Intelligent designer” chose for all of this to take place in some barbaric illiterate part of Palistine, instead of some place like China , which was already very literate and very progressive in science and technology.
*sighs* – I have two questions for you:
1. So you Christians and other believers want your god to be responsible for the reality of the universe and the world as I have described?
2. Does this look like intelligent design to you does it? Or perhaps “SD theory” is more suitable (i.e. Stupid Design Theory)… Afterall, this is evidence of “stupid design” isn’t it???
(please as always, no rude answers)

You should review point #3. The only planet in the universe with life. The only planet God himself said he created. The only planet he walked on.
And you are forgetting one very important point. Sin. That brought death and proves God is not a liar.
Yes, design always has intelligence behind it.
