Walmart recalls GE food processors
Around 255,000 General Electric Food Processors sold exclusively at Walmart have been voluntarily recalled due to a risk of laceration and fire, the government said on Wednesday.
The safety interlock system on the recalled food processor can fail, exposing blades while in operation, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a statement.
Food processors can also emit smoke or catch fire.
There have been 58 reports of incidents, 21 of which resulted in injuries to fingertips and three in fire.
The product is a black with stainless steel trim 14-cup food processor with a 169203 model number.

When will Americans learn that you get exactly what you pay for? Who in their right mind shops at China-Mart anyway?

I’m not a fan of Chinese-made everything, but product quality problems and recalls have been around forever.
Give your answer to this question below!
Well due to the overwhelming taxes businesses have to pay, they feel the need to hire cheaper labor.
It’s a no win situation and BOTH parties are wrong.
We can’t keep giving corporate welfare to CEOs who make tons of money, Why can’t they put forth their profits to help pay for the business? If they need government aid than they should be left to die.
as for taxes, it is really a no brainer. If I can buy the same pair of shoes at walmart for $20 instead of at footlocker for $80 than where do you think I am going to go?
People like to save money and they do it by any means necessary. So taxing them out the A will only make things worse.
I shop at Mal?Mart.
Are you on an American made computer? How about your tv?
The unattractive truth is that some substantial portion of Americans really do believe they “live better” when they “save money”. I will bet my paycheck the people involved in those 58 incidents all indignantly claimed entitlement to compensation after the incident but it evidently has not yet occurred to them they can exercise that entitlement before the incident with preventative regulation and if they furthermore felt the same passion for participatory inclusion, they might even realize they can actually ‘save’ even more money by paying ten times as much for the food processor if they are the ones that make it.
These people must not be using their food processors correctly.
Who the hell sticks their hands into the contraption when it’s running?
Instructions tell the consumer to unplug the machine before handling the contents in the processor.
Unions drove the jobs over seas.
Tomato’s, spinach, cars hae we put blame on those things also.
What you do not understand is that items are DESIGNED to break now. Think about it..If they lasted their true potential, 20 years+, then you wouldn’t keep buying them and the company would lose money.
Just think how many natural resources end up in the Land fill every year so the corps can stick some more money in their pockets.
