I am with you. The last time I remember lead being an issue was when McDonalds recalled some lead painted glasses – in the ’70s (I kept my my Mayor McCheese one though but never drank from it). Now lead is still an issue. Why do they even put lead in ANY paints anymore???
This is what happens when we outsource production to a third world, communist country that uses slave labor and low-bid practices to farm out production to the lowest bidder.
Thank you Wal-Mart and other mass retailers, but even more so to the people who refuse to spend a little more money to buy American-made products.
Some of the latest stuff just comes from increased testing and awareness. Plus there is now a machine that makes it very easy to test. Lead paint is cheaper than lead-free paint so when a factory thinks they can get away with using cheaper paint they will. In some cases lead-free paint was supplied by the customer, but the Chinese company sold the lead-free paint and purchased cheaper lead based paint. I think the Chinese government is going to get on top of this very fast, they can’t afford to let this destroy their industry.
Chinese want us dead.
