I’d heard that the FDA had found salmonella in peanut butter products in general, but I didn’t know about this particular recall. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

Chinese product recall……what products exactly are affected?
Question by Riley: Chinese product recall……what products exactly are affected?
Is it just fisher price affected by this chinese product recall or is it a whole range of baby items?
decided to see what stuff I have for my new baby that is made in China.
One item was a painted plastic dinnerware set. The company it is made by is babycie.com, a company based in California.
So I sent them a very polite email asking if they knew for sure that this product was safe and he sent me back an email saying ‘of course it is safe!’
So am I supposed to just take his word for it?
The silly man obviously got very offended that I was asking but honestly does he think I am going to let my child eat off a plate that has paint with lead in it.
So I just emailed him back and asked how he could be so sure and who was his chinese vendor. I suggested that if he was unable to confirm for sure that his products were safe then I would enlist the help of channel 7 news to investigate instead!
does anyone know if its just fisher price affected or where I could get that info. thanx

Is it just me, or are companies really slacking now days with the safety of their products?
I am already very paranoid about food.I don’t think I can even purchase another product from a company that had a “slip”.Yes, mistakes do happen, but there are no room for mistakes when it comes to health safety. Why should I have to suffer from someone else’s mistakes? All this salmonella/e.coli etc crap in food is scary!
If anyone wants to keep updated, her is the FDA recall lists for food and medications I believe.

It is scarey….I never buy this, but my daughter saw it and thought it looked good, so I bought it. Luckily it was the smaller one, but I have only seen the recall one other time (I feel sorry for those who don’t know about it).

Why Monetary Policy Committee is unlikely to cut interest rates when consumer spending is increasing?
Question by i am confused o_O: Why Monetary Policy Committee is unlikely to cut interest rates when consumer spending is increasing?
British retail sales jumped by 6.3 per cent in September as consumers, concerned by the product recall from Mattel, bought toys and games while taking advantage of heavy discounting on the high street.
The rise in revenues, signalling the largest increase in three years, surpassed analysts’ expectations of 5.6 per cent growth in sales compared to September last year.
Total sales volume between August and September rose by 0.6 per cent, confounding forecasts that retail revenue would decline. Analysts believe that today’s figures make it unlikely the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee will cut interest rates this year.
Howard Archer, chief UK and European economist at Global Insight said: “Evidence that consumer spending currently remains robust well may well deter the Bank of England from trimming interest rates as early as November.”
The Office for National Statistics reported that sales of toys and games had been particularly strong, which Investec attributed to the “no toys for Christmas scare” last month associated with Mattel’s toy recall.
The American toy maker recalled more than 21 million of its Chinese-made products, including Barbie dolls and toy cars, on concerns that they were either coated with lead paint or contained small magnets that could be detached from the toy and swallowed by a child.
Quarterly British retail sales, from July to September, increased by 1.7 per cent compared to a 1.3 per cent rise in the three months to August and 0.5 per cent growth in the period to July. The 1.7 per cent increase is the largest rise since July 2006 – the month before the Bank of England began increasing the UK interest rate.
Prices of goods fell by the sharpest rate since January 2005 as retailers cut prices to tempt shoppers back to the high street after the summer’s dismal weather.
However, analysts expect spending to slow as consumers tighten their belts given rising UK debt levels – UK consumer debt reached £215 billion in August – and the slowing housing market.

Answer by Genki
If consumers are spending, it is likely that inflation will occur. By keeping interest rates (the cost of credit) up, the idea is to restrict spending just enough to limit inflation.
If consumers are spending, they are happy with the prices and there is no need to lower the cost of money. If consumers are not spending enough, the cost of credit is too high and rates will be lowered to make it easier for them to buy more.

Q&A: Simplicity Crib Recalls…?
Question by ?Mommy to 2 year old Jacob?: Simplicity Crib Recalls…?
So I just found out the Simplicity Christina Crib N’ Changer combo crib I have is recalled… and my model number is one of them. Last year I heard this too but the email said if the hardware was installed correctly and not upside down then it’s fine…. now that is not the case and this is a totally new recall.
My husband’s friend got us this from Netshops.com and she sent me this email
Today the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of several models of drop side cribs manufactured by Simplicity Inc. and SFCA Inc. According to our records, you purchased one of these cribs from Netshops. (The model numbers that Netshops sold are 8756, 8765, and 8996.) Per the recall the CPSC is advising that you stop using these cribs immediately.
Recalls are the responsibility of the manufacturer of the product. We, however, have been unable to get in touch with Simplicity today. If you have a crib affected by this recall, please call 866-508-1142, to arrange for a replacement.
If you have any questions about this recall, please go to www.cpsc.gov.
Thank you.
What do you think will be done? Will it be replaced or do we have to do that now? I have already emailed netshops… but what they hell!? Starting tomorrow for nap he’ll go in his pack and play for the time being (he’s already asleep now and I hate to wake him..) but who else is dealing with this??
I just found a good one if this is what I comes to for us… http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10630001
I am so torn… and upset. I loved this crib dammit. lol
hubby wants to go set up pack n play now,…but poor Jacob is sleeping soundly and I hate to disturb him.. it wont fit in the door put together.. but I figure we’ve gone since 3 months old in it so he’ll be fine for one more night

We’re going though this too. We ordered ours online at Walmart.com, so we could easily take ours in to get a refund. Now, we are going to go shopping this weekend. In the meantime, Kaelin sleeps in her pack n play. She’s not too picky where she sleeps — we could put her in a cardboard box and she’d be okay with it! lol
I’m not looking forward to crib hunting again!
