Question by Link strikes back: Evilutionists and Atheodontists, why are wisdom teeth so stupid?
I think it is part of an evil conspiracy because they want to take some pliers to my mouth.
But what is the reason?
I would also like to here from the Intelligent design proponents on this.

Melting Media, they are only doing one today because a computer generated picture of me shows this if I leave it.

Blame your ancestors. They had much bigger jaws so all their teeth fit, but once they discovered fire, they didn’t need such massive jaws to chew their food. Also, they grew bigger brains, which started crowding your teeth.
Oh, and make sure you never take your penicillin in the same meal with dairy. I found that out the hard way.

Using Tarps During Times of Flooding

During a time when the rivers are flooding, it pays to have something that you can use to cover up your furniture, seal doors and windows, and generally make your house a little protected in case the waters do reach your home. Tarps are easy enough to find, you can find them at most hardware stores, or even an online vendors. All of these retailers carry some sort of a tarp that will be useful in covering your assets and keeping them relatively safe, than with using nothing at all. You can use these tarps inside in covering up everything you value, your furniture, and you can use them to seal up your doors and windows by putting them around the frames of the doors and windows, and using some duct tape, or another strong, water proof adhesive, will keep the water out. If water does come in through these areas, it will be very little. A lot of people in the North & South Dakota, who are dealing with flooding rivers right now, are using tarps, in conjunction with other means, to keep the waters out of their houses, and businesses.
Almost every year, we all hear of some area along some river that has to deal with flood waters, and tarps are among the number one item needed to help keep peoples items safe. Most any tarp will do this job, if you have one. If you don’t have any at all, as I said before, you can get them at any retail store that is close to you, for a low cost, and they carry multiple sizes for whatever purpose you have in mind for it. Another way to use the tarps for protection, is to erect some kind of a levee system around your house, and top the levee with the tarps. This will keep most of the water from ever reaching your house, if not all of the water.
The tarps will help keep the water from eroding the levee away and causing breaks and failures in the levee. Using a levee system in conjunction with covering your doors and windows with tarps will almost certainly keep the water out of your house from the ground level. If you’re dealing with a flooding river and it is still raining, then you should cover your roof with tarps as well. This will help prevent the rain water from soaking through your roof in areas where rain water settles and builds up when it rains. The tarp will help keep the water away from your roof especially if it is fixed properly, this will the enable any water that has built up, to run down the slope of your roof and off your house. You see, using tarps is effective way to help keep your house and family valuables safe and out of harms way when nature shows herself in this awful way

Google Tech Talk December 16, 2009 ABSTRACT Presented by Jason H. Wong. Our brains are not as reliable as we would like to think. Human factors is the science of understanding human cognition and designing systems to work within its limitations. A lot of time and effort has gone into understanding how our brains work (and when they don’t). However, we continue to make fundamental design errors that not only go against cognitive science principles but common sense as well. This talk will explore some of the quirkier aspects of our cognition, from visual attention to memory and decision making. There will be copious examples of design gone wrong along with discussions of how to understand how we think and how to avoid making design mistakes in the future. Dr. Jason H. Wong is a Human Factors Scientist with the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC). He received his Ph.D. in 2009 from George Mason University in Human Factors and Applied Cognition, where he conducted research on visual attention and working memory. He was awarded the Department of Defense SMART Scholarship in 2007. This paved the way for his work at NUWC, where Dr. Wong examines the human-computer interaction aspects of complex systems, develops efficient submariner training methodologies, and creates cognitive models to simulate human performance.

Q&A: Whirlpool flame lock water heater recall?
Question by jasmin_flower69: Whirlpool flame lock water heater recall?
My sis in law’s maintenance guy is trying to rip her off and we were wondering, if anyone out there knows, Is this product under recall? I know the thermocoupler is supposed to be, but the recall page at the actual whirlpool site is conveniently off line.
If anyone out there could tell me if it is and if possible when it became under warranty? She just got it installed 3 months ago and they’re trying to tell her that she must have damaged it, and she must replace it, as no water heater breaks that quickly. We’re wondering if they got it cheap after the recall and are using it as a scam.
Thanks in advance!

Answer by paranut59
As I understand it, the unit has a 12 year tank warranty but Whirlpool is only offering a one time replacement of the crappy thermocouple. Most Home Improvment stores are not even carrying the replacement, you have to order it.
As for the guy who refuses to repair it, he is just a lazy slug.
Installation date is what matters, not when it was made. Besides, any reputable service company stands behind anything and everything they sell. In our company, we offer a 100% money back guarantee for up to 2 years on anything we install. Simply put, if you don’t like it, you don’t keep it. Have her call a factory trained Whirlpool repairman and report the other jerk to the BBB.
Consumer reports on this particular item are nightmarish, sorry.
