Question by SJ: How do you talk to your dad?

Okay, so there is something I’m wanting to buy for when I go to college and I have to ask my father if I can buy it before I can get it. I also have to show him all the details about it. I think he thinks the field I’m going into (graphic design) is stupid. He’s always been a quiet person and doesn’t say a lot whenever I do get chances to talk to him. I just always get so nervous about asking him. What should I say or do to overcome my fear?
