Hey can anyone tell me some good house design programs for macbooks I can purchase? I would like not to spend more the 50 dollars though….thank you!

If your purpose is to just have fun attempting to design your over all concept of a dream home, most programs available through you Office Depot or Office Max, for the amount you plan to spend, will give you what you want, but if you are looking for a professional program, you’ll find .00 programs lacking in all the really necessary information that professionals use in their design development. If you’re looking for expertise, I hope you have a deep pocket. I believe, you would be better served, contacting an architect, and seeing what they can put together for you. I could save you a lot of time and money. Besides, their skills and knowledge are accountable. If you make a mistake, ….oops, it they make the mistake….well, at least you could have a source to correct the mistake.

We’re getting ready to build our home and we want a house layout where the kitchen is in the front of our home. I have looked at dozens of floor layouts and all of them have the kitchen in the back corner of the house.
Any ideas, anyone have the kitchen in the front?
I’m sure our home builder can help with this… but I’m starting to wonder if this is a stupid idea.
The reason we want this is because the way our house will face, the sun rises on the front right corner, and that is where I want the kitchen. We can’t turn the face of the house for other reasons…

Windows are one reason. From the street, the front of the house usually has the largest windows, into the living areas.
Kitchens, as they maximize counter space, usually only have smaller windows above counter height — which aren’t as visually pleasing from the outside. Working around upper cabinets, plumbing, ventilation, wires, etc. also limits the size, number and placement of windows.
Also, as the kitchen tends to be a work area, it is not as welcoming from the front door — imagine greeting guests at the door, and the first thing they see is an overflowing trash can, dirty dishes, the dog-bowl, and the rumpled dishtowels hanging over the oven door.
So, builders, in designing gracious entry areas, will put the kitchen in the back.

So why not should we be more cautious to save our lives, instead of suffering some irreplaceable damages. Disasters like river floods, heavy thunderstorms, hurricanes, levee failures, malfunctioning of drainage systems and so forth are those factors that lead to flooding which is really hard to overcome. Also along with this comes theft, burglary, fire, etc. Thus the risk of flooding is big. According to some stats almost 90% of natural disasters around us are somehow connected to flooding. There are various ways to protect your property from the natural disasters. The best option is to avoid buying a house in areas prone to flooding or at least get acquainted with all the possible hazards related to that place and the topography of the area, he weather conditions in your area, some weather history of the area, etc. All this information will help you to take precautionary steps by your own or by professional contractors. If it turns out that risks of flooding are quite high in that area, you will have to look for a complete insurance policy which includes all the related issues. One point that should be kept in mind is that standard homeowner policies don’t cover flood damage. Unfortunately this fact is exposed only after the accident. You might have insurance against hurricanes or earthquakes, but unless your real estate is covered particularly against flooding, you will have to pay for everything on your own and that will undoubtedly double the miseries accompanying the accident. Because of the high level of risk factors it is not easy to find an insurance company providing suitable flood insurance. A National Flood Insurance Program had been devised in 1968 as an alternative insurance provider. The federal government will provide financial aid in case the flood occurs only if according to the agreement local communities implement all the possible measures in order to reduce or prevent future flood risks. The cost of insurance differs depending on the location of the property. Rates are high if you live close floodplains. Paying high rates is worth because in some areas losses are quite huge. Property of the homeowners which is located near low risk areas are enabled to refer to preferred risk policy with relatively low costs. Even if you don’t reside in a flood zone, it would be still better considering some kind of flood cover because in accordance to statistics, approximately thirty percent of flood insurance claims are exactly from the areas previously been considered as low-risk zones. In order to get the best deal do some research online and obtain the most suitable coverage for the lowest premiums despite the location of your real estate. This will put you in the driver’s seat.
