PART 1 (please see my videos or link for Part 2) -www.youtube.com The Importance of Sound Editing & Sound Design in Independent Film and Media This is a video presenting 2 case study examples of how & why quality sound editing and sound design is a highly valued part of the film making process (which is overlooked more often than not), demonstrating the effect that it can have on scenes, and overall importance of sound in context to the big picture of making media. 2 scenes from the short film “The Hunter” by Alastair Ferran (www.alastairferran.com) are presented in an unedited form, then have they’re faults broken down, & the apprach that was taken to process each scene brushing over the various techniques used. Finally each scene is then played back again with finished edited audio track, allowing direct comparison from the materials available, & the end result. SEMESTER 8 – Short Film
Everyone has heard about it, but only an engineering graduate knows the significance of the dreaded ” arrears”. Life just isn’t the same after you get one. You become the unassuming victim of a form of discrimination that trickles down all the way from the top brass of the institute, to your immediate faculty, to fellow students, all the way to your relatives at home. The underachiever, the drop-out, the kid who just couldn’t make it Experience the college lives of some people who got stuck with this very stigma. Feel their angst through their difficulties and their joy for the small things in life; Semester 8 is going to take you for, maybe not the ride of your life, but a joyride nonetheless. the next time you meet someone with a bunch of arrears, cut them some slack will ya, they’re probably on the verge of discovering or creating what might just ignite the next revolution.
