how do I fix an electrical problem with my dome lights in my 97 Chevy Blazer?

Question by ghostman: how do I fix an electrical problem with my dome lights in my 97 Chevy Blazer?

I looked on-line for some answers but I still need help. No matter what, the dome lights in my truck will not go off. Engine on or off, doors open or shut, even the dome light switch on or off doesn’t affect it. I thought one of the censors might be bad, but I pulled all of them out. NO GO! The stupid f****** lights are still on! I pulled the bulbs out, for now, to save my battery. I still need to find out how to eliminate this problem. Any Ideas?

Okay.. I had to start with the obvious:

Are all your doors closed (including the hatch?)

Also: The dimmer knob for your dash lights also controls your dome light, so that you can turn it on without opening your door. Make sure it isn’t turned on.

And make sure the dome override light is off….

during the design stage of an electrical installation why do i need to know prospective earth fault current?

Answer by Jeremy D
You would need to know the available fault current of the system in order to properly rate the electrical components. Most all types of electrical switchgear have a fault current interrupting capacity rating. All components must have an interrupting capacity of at least as high as the available fault current.
