DEG in Toothpaste from China
updated June 15, 2007
Introduction
FDA has found a poisonous chemical, diethylene glycol (DEG), in certain toothpastes imported from China. The agency increased its scrutiny and testing of imported toothpaste and dental products after receiving reports in late May 2007 of contaminated Chinese dental products found in several countries, including Panama.
The agency is warning consumers to avoid using tubes of toothpaste labeled as made in China and, through an import alert, is stopping all suspect toothpaste from entering the United States. FDA continues to investigate this problem and will take further action, as appropriate, to address this important public safety issue. View News Updates

Does anyone have an opinion about any South Korean company?
Question by Glenn Harvey Fingler: Does anyone have an opinion about any South Korean company?
I live in South Korea and I have heard that many Americans are more willing to consider driving a Hyundai than they were ten years ago. Do any other Korean products/companies make an impression on you (even if you aren’t an American!)???
Best answer:
Answer by Jerry
The quality of Hyundai automobiles has improved dramatically since they were first introduced to the US. One of the better indications is the quality rankings in Consumer Reports, one of the few unbiased sources of info. Hyundai started with poor (next-to-last if I recall correctly) rankings, and is now near the top. That is the reason for the change in perception.
Two Korean companies that are doing well in electronics are Samsung and LG. Many Americans may not know the country of origin, but recognize the brands.

An infomercial for Kevin Trudeau’s Mega Memory System claimed that scientific studies of his system showed that it could help anyone achieve a photographic memory, even people with learning disabilities or low IQ’s. “Kevin Trudeau’s breakthrough techniques were developed while working with blind and mentally handicapped students,” the infomercial said. “Their recall ability increased from 15% to 90% in just 5 days,” it said, and stated that the techniques were “. . . guaranteed to work for you.” In fact, the FTC alleges, the memory system would not enable users to achieve a photographic memory, and the advertising claims were false.
To settle the FTC charges, Kevin Trudeau, who developed and appeared in all the infomercials, including the one for his “Mega Memory System,” will pay 0,000 in consumer redress and will be barred from making false claims for the products in the future.

What your feelings about In Minneapolis bridge collapse?
Question by msmomofmany: What your feelings about In Minneapolis bridge collapse?
In Minneapolis bridge collapses, 60 hurt, 9 died, many more body’s still in there cars in water…. Beside being Sad, I’m Mad!, Why wasn’t this bridge replaced with new safer bridge? Why are schools starting here in USA with no Ac or in bad repair? Why are the communities that haven’t been rebuild in new Orleans? or why wasn’t the dams replaced there before they were hit with hurricane Katrina? Why wasn’t there quicker response for the many that didn’t get out in time? Then I think of the billions of dollars that are sent over sea’s for country’s to rebuild their bridges their roads, their dams & building their schools…
How many more would like to see our Government and people running for Government answers to that?

What Is The Case Against The Federal Government ?
The Army Corps of Engineers is a federal government agency.
They designed, built, and maintained several waterways that run through the area in and around New Orleans (NOLA).
These waterways were not designed, built, or maintained correctly.
The Army Corps of Engineers and the federal government knew that the waterways they designed, built, and maintained, were at high risk of failure when a hurricane came.
Although the federal government had the ability
had the ability to fix the problems, it did not.
These waterways failed during and after Katrina and caused flooding of the New Orleans area (NOLA), including New Orleans, New Orleans East, 9th Ward, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, and Jefferson.

Question by brisbeachmom: I am concerned about the pet food recall. I have a dog who has been eating purina puppy chow and its made by?
nestle and some of their wet food has been recalled. Our dog has recently been throwing up a lot and we took her to the vet. She said it was acid reflux and told us to give her pepcid ac. It seems to be really working since she hasn’t thrown up since. But still i worry what if that crap they found in the wet food is in the dry. I think i just wanna switch her to human food but i know its not healthy for her. Any ideas?
She wouldn’t eat pedigree..and they recently expaned the recall and said it was delibeartly put in the food in China.Even some of Petsmarts dog food was recalled. Just makes you cautious what is going in your dogs tummy

Answer by daytondaveman
All that bad food was supposedly pulled off the shelves weeks ago. Unless you had some stocked up from before then i really doubt that you got a bad batch.
Its good to be concerned though. Myself ive been feeding my dogs Pedigree. They were not part of the recall at all.
