What are your thoughts on the pet food recall? Are your pets safe?
Question by LM: What are your thoughts on the pet food recall? Are your pets safe?
I was a bit concerned over the recent recall on pet food products. I do buy some of the brands listed, and was glad to find out our cans did not have the same expiration dates as the ones listed on the recall notice. Whew, that was a relief.
Is there a process the food manufacturer follows such as testing their products to ensure their are no contaminants.

Our pets are safe thank goodness! Our dogs eat dry dog food (3 year old beagle and 10 week old boxer puppy). I think it is horrible that pets are getting sick and even dying because of this. It is uncalled for.

Question by brisbeachmom: I am concerned about the pet food recall. I have a dog who has been eating purina puppy chow and its made by?
nestle and some of their wet food has been recalled. Our dog has recently been throwing up a lot and we took her to the vet. She said it was acid reflux and told us to give her pepcid ac. It seems to be really working since she hasn’t thrown up since. But still i worry what if that crap they found in the wet food is in the dry. I think i just wanna switch her to human food but i know its not healthy for her. Any ideas?
She wouldn’t eat pedigree..and they recently expaned the recall and said it was delibeartly put in the food in China.Even some of Petsmarts dog food was recalled. Just makes you cautious what is going in your dogs tummy

All that bad food was supposedly pulled off the shelves weeks ago. Unless you had some stocked up from before then i really doubt that you got a bad batch.
Its good to be concerned though. Myself ive been feeding my dogs Pedigree. They were not part of the recall at all.

PRODUCT: “Prenatal Vitamins with Folic Acid” by Chase Laboratories under the Geneva Generics label, containing 100 tablets of vitamins with iron.
PROBLEM: Lack of child-resistant closure means that a child could accidentally swallow these vitamins with iron. Just four or five tablets if consumed by a child at one time can cause serious illness or death.
WHAT TO DO: Immediately return the “Prenatal Vitamins with Folic Acid” (100-tablet bottles) to the store where purchased for a refund of the purchase price.
WASHINGTON, DC – In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Chase Laboratories, Inc. of Newark, NJ is voluntarily recalling their 100 tablet bottles of “Prenatal Vitamins with Folic Acid” packaged under the Geneva Generics label because they are not packaged with child-resistant closures. The product intended for pregnant or lactating women, contains 60 milligrams of iron per tablet. The iron contained in just four or five tablets, if consumed by a child at one time, can cause serious illness or death.
The recalled Prenatal Vitamins contain 100 tablets with a total of 6,000 milligrams (mg) of iron. The package is not child-resistant as required by the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. The CPSC enforces the requirement that any over-the-counter medication or dietary supplement which contains more than 250 mg of iron in a single package must be supplied with child- resistant packaging. Chase Laboratories reported the packaging problem and their initiation of the recall to CPSC under the reporting requirements of Section 15(b) of the Consumer Product Safety Act, 15 U.S.C. {2064(b).
Consumers should immediately return the product to the store where purchased for a refund of the purchase price.
Since the product’s introduction in 1990, approximately 70,000 bottles of Prenatal Vitamins with Folic Acid packaged under the Geneva Generics Label were distributed in non-child-resistant packaging through 342 retail and wholesale druggists nationwide.
Chase Laboratories, the manufacturer, and Geneva Generics, the private label distributor, instituted the recall of this product because of the potential hazard to children from these tablets due to the lack of child- resistant packaging. Neither of the recalling firms nor the Commission is aware of any poisoning incidents due to this product. Data from the American Association of Poison Control Centers report that 11 children in the United States died in 1991 from ingestion of iron-containing medicines and dietary supplements.
CPSC is announcing this recall as part of its mission to protect the public from unreasonable risks of injury and death associated with consumer products. The Commission’s objective is to reduce the estimated 28.5 million injuries and 21,600 deaths associated each year with the 15,000 different types of consumer products under CPSC’s jurisdiction.

Do you think we can expect some great deals on Toyota vehicles after the recall issues are resolved?
Question by Mr. Atoz: Do you think we can expect some great deals on Toyota vehicles after the recall issues are resolved?
One would think that the company would try and offer some major incentives to to boost interest in their products. I doubt many people are looking for a new Toyota now, but over the next year or so will there be some great deals on new models?
Best answer:
Answer by Rapid Fire
Actually; a lot of people are looking for a new Toyota. Not everyone jumped on the Panic Button when a few throttles got stuck.
And, yes, Toyota is currently working on some incentive plans to get consumers back to the brand. Same as every other Major Manufacturer has done after a massive recall.
I would not hesitate to buy a new Toyota if I was in the market for a new car. A faulty gas pedal would be a welcome relief from the problems I’ve had with the electronic steering system in my 2006 Malibu. GM will not admit there’s a problem with it in spite of the fact that every component except the steering wheel has been replaced. At least Toyota admitted fault and is doing something about it.

Q&A: How can I get my money back on the recall for the Toy Tool set from Black & Decker?
Question by Melanie N: How can I get my money back on the recall for the Toy Tool set from Black & Decker?
My son received a Christmas gift of a Huge set of Toy Black & Decker tools. When I tried to return the duplicate (toy set) at Target, I was told there was no value and the toy was recalled. I was not provided any information about this toy and would like to know, why it was recalled and how to get my money back?
Best answer:
Answer by cuddly toy
If there was a recall Target should have been able to provide you with that information. As retailers receive information sheets to give consumers instructions on what to do with recalled products.
I did some research but couldn’t find any recall info for and B&D branded toys just appliances. So I would recommend contacting Target, the CPSC or CDI toys to see if you can get more information and proper instruction.
