Question by Kimberly: Similac recall Alimentum is part of the recalled product? Not able to get through on phone or website?
do you know if Similac alimentum is part of recall? Not able to get through on website or phone number to check lot numbers. thx
I was able to get on the website and it appears both liquid and powder Alimentum is not affected. Just to be sure I entered in my lot numbers and they came back as NOT in recalled. they are: 83109T3 and 88082T30

Similac Alimentum is NOT part of the recall. Here is the press-release from the FDA
http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm226885.htm
Here is the quote
No Abbott liquid infant formulas are impacted. Products not involved in the recall include all Abbott Nutrition liquid ready-to-feed and concentrated infant formulas and all powder and liquid specialty formulas, such as Similac Expert Care™ Alimentum®, Elecare®, Similac Expert Care™ Neosure®, Similac® Human Milk Fortifier, and metabolic formulas for inherited disorders.

I cant get on the site or into the phone line either…if someone finds the lot numbers please post here. I breastfeed 95% of the time, but maybe once a week I formula feed, and of course its similac. yuck…
EDIT: Just found out, any formula with “T2” in the lot number is recalled…
I am trying to find out about Alimentum also… It says no Liquid alimentum, but does not specify powder alimentum…website still down…UGH]
bs they shut the site and number down…
We understand this is frustrating and want to let you know we’re working around the clock to get you the details you need, since we know you’ve experienced challenges getting through to our site and phone line. While we’re increasing call center resources and expanding the bandwidth of our site, you can use this rule of thumb: If you have Similac brand powder in a rectangular, plastic tub, it IS part of the recall. If you have liquid infant formula, it is NOT part of the recall. If you have powder in cans, please continue trying to reach us with your lot number(s).
If you have a product impacted by this recall, please discontinue use of it immediately. You’ll need to visit a local store to purchase a Similac liquid product or alternative infant formula to feed your baby. We very much appreciate your continued patience. ~Similac Team
