Hey, just bought a house and in the kitchen, the bottom half of the wall is wood paneling. The only reason I’m unsure is because I am staining the cabinets a darker ash wood color and I don’t think it would look right to have the cabinets darker than the paneling? The colors I have in mind for the upper walls is between a darker taupe or a bold but muted shade of orange. I want my kitchen to feel kind of masculine and lived in, so I chose black counters and brushed nickel modern fixtures. Any design ideas for this stupid paneling would be appreciated.

It depends on whether you want a classic or modern kitchen tiling. If you’d go for classic i would suggest using dark brown or grey.
