Yes technically it has not been proven that creatures evolved millions of years by actually seeing it happen or having recorded history of it, just like religion dating more than 100 years ago has not been proven by seeing it happen or having a recorder history of it. Both are theories because? it can be debated. It’s a zero sum argument.

“Evolution is only a theory”= the quickest way to let people know you’re ignorant of what ‘theory’ means in science terms. It’s like saying music theory is only a? theory.
Prof. Dawkins sure makes sense.It’s 2012 now. How “religion” of any sort has a foot-hold? on humanity is bewildering.
In short religion is a either from ignorance or (sorry if it offends)? a psychological disorder. Most people don’t have any problem believing that the other apes are just dead after they die but they simply cannot accept that this is all there is for themselves. We must criticize religion until it is gone.
Many religions fullfill a psychological need that some people have to be part of the “in” group. The group that gets into heaven in the case of religion. It can fill the need people have to belong to a community and have rituals and ceremony. It gives some answers to questions that they do not have otherwise (through lack of education or inability to accept or comprehend? the scientific answer). Some people have a problem dealing with the finality of their one life and want a bonus round.
Religion doesn’t need critics it needs a way out. It’s fucking obvious? to anyone that there isn’t a supernatural being watching over us.
What we should be asking is “why do people like religion, what do they get from religion, why does it have such a hold over them?”
Answer this truthfully and we can start fighting for a world free from such inane nonsense.
