Answering the question “what do I want to be when I grow up” is incredibly hard for most people. It is very common to change your mind a lot. VERY common- knowing what you want to do, and holding onto that forever, is pretty uncommon. Some people never know the answer and simply have to find something good enough to make a living that won’t drive them crazy.

There are career counselors available at most high schools and colleges. If you are in school, check out if there is a guidance counselor or career counselor who can help you work through this a bit.

I think that is very normal! Its pathetic to be stuck doing something your whole life that you do not enjoy! Find something you like, and go for it. I know someone who went through years of schooling to become a Speech Language Pathologist, and the first day on the job she knew that she hated it and couldn’t spend the rest of her life doing it. So she went back to school and became a lawyer, and she loves it! You might spend a few extra years in college, but you’ll spend the rest on your life satisfied.
