Here’s my most favorite tale: One day I saw a cute fat kitten run amok with a New Ipad..he was Bad. His name was John and he had a lil sister named Mary Ann and an even smaller sister named Suzy. They went to the store to buy a crack rock for Paris Hilton and her boyfriend Oj Simpson at their record release party. then Johnny Cochran stepped on Suzy and went to court with her parents. Modern Marvels – S11E53 Engineering Disasters 17 Part – (2/3)

Modern Marvels: It’s another chapter of complex, deadly and controversial engineering failures, using 3-D animation, forensic engineering experts, and footage of the actual disasters to understand what went wrong, and how disaster has led to improvement. In Sun Valley, California, weeks of record rain turn a crack in the middle of a street into a 200-foot long sinkhole. Months later, rain led to the Laguna Beach, California landslide, which destroyed 11 homes and caused millions in damage. On May 23, 2004, four people were killed when the roof of the new Terminal 2E at Charles de Gaulle International Airport in Paris collapses. Other disasters: the 1931 crash of Fokker F-10 passenger airplane with coach Knute Rockne aboard; the sinking of the coal ship Marine Electric off the coast of Virginia; and the blinding reflection of the new Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. A good setting/location for a scene that would involve some sort of action?
Question by trs_shortie9: A good setting/location for a scene that would involve some sort of action?
For a drama class, we have to come up with a setting and then a set design for a scene. This scene will be a 10 minute improvisation of 2 characters talking. Wanted to have it set in a coffee shop but was told that something like that wouldn’t work because he doesn’t want to see the characters simply sitting for 10 minutes. Any ideas? I would really appreciate them.

God, how I hate stupid drama class assignments. A 10 minute improv? that’s longer than they do on Who’s Line Is It?
Do a robbery of the coffee shop, that’ll be full of “action” Sounds like another pin headed teacher who does not explain the assigments thoroughly enough, unless, of course, you did not pay attention.

How do you feel about that beef recall?
Question by Mz Senoir: How do you feel about that beef recall?
If I can remember:
about 143 million pounds of beef were recalled because of abuse towards sick animals in California. I found it horrifying to watch that 30 sec clip.

Why do sexy parts have to have poop and pee come out of them?
Question by Dr. Bottom Contributor IV: Why do sexy parts have to have poop and pee come out of them?
Was this a design flaw? Or is poop and pee really sexy, but we have been conditioned to think otherwise?

Because to have good, you also need evil. Poo and pee is the evil side of “sexy parts.”

Can you write a function in two variables that exhibits chaotic behaviour?
Question by Mechoman: Can you write a function in two variables that exhibits chaotic behaviour?
I recall analysis of the Newton-Raphson method for iteratively solving polynomials – depending on the initial value chosen, the equation would ‘home in’ on a function.
At certain values, f(a), the equation would head off to inifity, and for infinitesimally different values to this, f(a ± ?a), a solution would be found.
Can you list any others functions that exhibit chaos in two variables?

Answer by Scythian1950
It depends on what you’re looking for. An easy way to put together a function that has a random output is through combining a rational with an irrational number, such as Sin(x) + Sin(?x). However, this is still differentiable everywhere, so it wouldn’t be a fractal. It’s difficult to devise a function in terms of elementary functions that’s a fractal, because it’s the same thing as attempting to write a function in terms of elementary functions that one CANNOT differentiate. Good luck with that. But if one is allowed to use infinite sums or products or limiting case functions in constructing such functions, yes, it’s possible. A variation of Dirichlet’s function (see wolfram) could get you such a function that is not only non-differentiable everywhere, but is chaotic as well. Another good example would be a variation of the Weierstrass function, see wiki.

Proven by science? I think you’ll find that by definition supernatural miracles are outwith the scope of scientific study.

Could someone help me with this?
Thanks,
Why do proponents of Intelligent Design use the eye to refute the theory of evolution?
How does Ken Miller describe the evolutionary development of the eye?
How does he use “design flaws” such as the blind spot in the retina as evidence for evolution?

Here is Ken Miller’s essay.

It’s actually very short (6 very short pages) … and the part on the blind spot is on p. 5.

Q&A: What kind of questions should I ask a potential wedding photographer?
Question by *Expecting Another*: What kind of questions should I ask a potential wedding photographer?
I have no experience with photographers, and I really do not even know what the cost for a service like this would be. I feel stupid calling someone blind and not even knowing what to ask. Can anyone give me some advice on questions that I should ask a potential photographer? Also what a ballpark figure for a wedding photographer? Thanks!

Should we avoid calcium and magnesium in hair products?
Question by Denise H: Should we avoid calcium and magnesium in hair products?
Hard water is bad for hair because of calcium and magnesium. Most organic substances contain calcium and magnesium (even fruit). Wouldn’t the ingredients in hair products have those components as well? And if so why aren’t we concerned about hair creams, shampoos, gels, and conditioners as well?
Best answer:
Answer by Sur La Mer
If you’re too concern about the hard water in your hair, rinse them with bottled water. That’s what I use when I’m traveling. Some celebrities, ship Perrier Water to wherever they’re vacationing, and wash their hair with bottled Perrier water or spring water.
Anything that’s in our shampoos, whether OTC or Salon products, can’t be that bad, they’ve had the same ingredients since the 60’s, when bottled shampoos came out. Before then, we’ve used a bar of soap to wash our hair. The FDA recalled a product this week that’s organic. Not everything is safe anymore!
I don’t use conditioner on my hair, and my profile shows that cheap OTC .99 shampoo on sale can’t be that bad. What’s bad and damaging to hair: hair dyes (causes hair loss), perming, relaxers (contains formaldehyde causing cancer), hair straightening (causes hair to not grow normally), heating curlers, anti-acne products, Proactive which contains carcinogen causing cancer, washing in hot water (in those order).
