How do you tell the difference between the recalled joker toy and a regular one?

product recall
by Eddie Donovan

Question by Case: How do you tell the difference between the recalled joker toy and a regular one?

I bought a dark knight joker toy from a toy collector and another one from from K-mart. While comparing the two boxes, I notice they were a little different for each other. The one I got from the collector had all the product numbers on the box blacked out and the one from K-mart did not. Upon further research I found Mattel recalled the first series of the joker for some odd reason. So which one the two I have is the recalled joker?

Best answer:

Answer by BARA_K OBA_A IS H_PE
Only figure recalled was the thug. Joker was NOT recalled by Mattel.

Any difference was just a running change in the line.

WHY and How do businesses re-launch products?

by MirrorlessvsD-SLR2

Question by Drew: WHY and How do businesses re-launch products?

I just need a few points about why and how businesses re-launch their products back into the market.

Best answer:

Answer by alicegirl71
Why: maybe the product had a design flaw, or lacked a feature that consumers wanted. Or maybe it was just marketed wrong – targeted the wrong group, or the ads were offensive, or didn’t reach the right audience.

How: mainly through marketing. Trying a different approach, emphasizing what is different about the product, running ads at different times in different media, and so on.

Is it safe to buy food from Amazon?

Question by Blah.: Is it safe to buy food from Amazon?

I want to buy some pumpikin puree. They only sell it during the Halloween-Christmas time and I really want to make some food that involves pumpkin. Would it be safe to buy Holiday type food from Amazon? How do they get a hold of it? Could it be expired stuff?

Best answer:

Answer by cactusgene
Yes it is safe to buy food from Amazon. Since your pumpkin puree is in a can, it generally has an expiration date about 2 years out. But even if the expiration date has passed the food is still good if it was stored properly (in a cold dry place.) I keep mine in a cabinet in the garage as I have no basement. And no, Amazon will not sell you stuff that has already expired. But here is what the USDA has to say on this subject.:

What do can codes mean?
Cans must exhibit a packing code to enable tracking of the product in interstate commerce. This enables manufacturers to rotate their stock as well as to locate their products in the event of a recall.

These codes, which appear as a series of letters and/or numbers, might refer to the date or time of manufacture. They aren’t meant for the consumer to interpret as “use-by” dates. There is no book or Web site that tells how to translate the codes into dates.

Cans may also display “open” or calendar dates. Usually these are “best if used by” dates for peak quality.

In general, high-acid canned foods such as tomatoes, grapefruit and pineapple will retain best quality on the shelf for 12 to 18 months; low-acid canned foods such as meat, poultry, fish and most vegetables will retain best quality on the shelf for 2 to 5 years — if the can remains in good condition and has been stored in a cool, clean, dry place.

Q&A: What is the main color in ‘natural’ hair dyes?

Question by fdgdfgsd: What is the main color in ‘natural’ hair dyes?

By this I mean:
Some dyes are called Ash dyes, some are called Golden dyes and some are called Natural dyes. Not sure if there are any more, but anyway, I know that Golden dyes have gold/yellow/red tones in them, and ash dyes are very grey/blue?? I guess. But I don’t know what Natural dyes main/base color is. Please help x

Best answer:

Answer by Sur La Mer
There are about 11 different colors for NATURAL hair dyes. What color is your natural hair? I have 4 on mine.

For years, there has been speculation among consumers and health groups that consistent use of hair color can result in an increased risk of certain types of cancer. According to Begoun, this is a real concern, but exhaustive research by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Cancer Institute and the National Institutes of Health has yielded no conclusive answers. Begoun says the research has been both confusing and conflicting: “In essence … there is no definitive proof one way or the other.” The FDA recommends that consumers weigh the risk for themselves.

Henna, for example, is a natural hair color that is incredibly drying to the hair shaft, Begoun says. And cosmetics scientists at TheBeautyBrains.com say that henna will only temporarily tint your hair. Although most so-called natural hair-color products use fewer chemicals than most drugstore hair colors, experts say that any change to natural hair color causes hair damage. Experts suggest using the gentlest formula that will yield your desired color and using it as infrequently as possible.
Herbatint & Naturetint are two permanent hair colors that use a smaller amount of hair dye chemicals in conjunction with natural ingredients. Both have fairly decent ratings at MakeupAlley.com (though each gets only a handful of reviews).

Here’s a new article I found re: henna, which is supposed to be better for you than reg. box dye. It’s a good read!
Google: Henna for Hair Warnings.
Google: Warning– Clairol Natural Instincts dye recall

If you’re using Henna which says it’s going to turn your hair from black to blonde, then it seems like your using compound Henna, which is not 100% natural. Without getting too scientific, compound henna is when you mix the Lawson in with a chemical like, metallic salts. The most commonly used ones are Copper, Lead acetate and Nickel. This can arguably damage your hair, leaving it dry, brittle and coarse.

Can I use fake product designs in my professional graphic design portfolio?

Question by GraphicMinded: Can I use fake product designs in my professional graphic design portfolio?

In class our teacher had us design “products” for companies that really exist. These companies did not use these fictious products. I am now putting together my design portfolio and want to know if I can use these designs, or if it incorrectly implies that I’ve had these big compaines as clients.

Question by Durty’s Wifey: Is it okay to reuse a 2007 graco infant seat?

It was my daughters and it was never in any wrecks and still in great condition. My new baby will be born in Feb 2010, so the car seat will be 3 years old by then. It’s been stored in a hall closet since last year. Is it still safe to use or do I have to puchase a newer one?
