Question by David: How does the burning of salmonella from the beginning egg product affect the egg whites that are sold?

I read that eggs that were recalled would be burned down and used for just egg whites. Is there any chance the product that is left behind would affect our bodies in any way? (I.e. digestion issues, buildup, etc.) I thought about this, since egg whites are so healthy when digested, is salmonella?

the egg whites will be sterilized – like in making of mayonaise
