The Universe is Rated R

The more I learn about the universe, the less convinced I am that there’s any sort of benevolent force that has anything to do with it, at all -Neil degrasse Tyson The Universe is Rated R for Cosmic Violence. Since the Big Bang the Universe has been a dynamic mix of exploding stars, colliding galaxies, black holes, dark matter, comets and asteroids- this cosmic violence is on such an immense scale that it makes our tiny planet seem like a distant spectator hoping not to be noticed by the war of the titans. But it will be noticed and has been in the past. There is a huge nuclear fire ball called the sun in our solar system that will become a red giant and the Andromeda galaxy heading towards our own galaxy. Our planet has no choice but to be part of this cosmic violence. And the Universe itself has to deal with its own demise. “This too shall pass” is a “universal” statement. A universe in which everything is known would be static and dull, as boring as the heaven of some weak-minded theologians-Carl Sagan The more I learn about the universe, the less convinced I am that there’s any sort of benevolent force that has anything to do with it, at all-Neil degrasse Tyson This present-day version of God of the gaps goes by a fresh name: intelligent design. The term suggests that some entity, endowed with a mental capacity far greater than the human mind can muster, created or enabled all the things in the physical world that we cannot explain through scientific methods. And the sheer clumpiness of it.

    I think it is the promise of eternity in the loving embrace of Jesus that keeps them motivated to remain ignorant.

    However, I agree that they *do* love a good whine about imagined persecution. It makes them feel noble and unified. It also allows them to feel that the myths that they invent about atheists are justified.

    Mind you, they would delude themselves about this no matter what atheists did. So, better to keep refuting their nonsensical arguments ;D

  12. TheSpankymonkey says:

    They love a good persecution story them lot. It’s what keeps them motivated.

  13. musekiteer says:

    Ooops, I meant persecuted …. but prosecuted would be good ;D

  14. musekiteer says:

    // Watch them scream if anyone says that to them //

    Yeah, they whine about being prosecuted for their beliefs. Such a pathetic spectacle!

    We have to have some fun in life ;D

    I am the ‘sum summus mus’ of all Raymonds. I need no protection, but thank you for the offer. XD

    “Creationists are proof positive that human evolution has not taken most minds very far into rationality.” – Seems some people are more evolved than others lol. Watch them scream if anyone says that to them though lol.

  17. TheSpankymonkey says:

    piwright42 – It’s ok bud. As defender of the universe i will protect you from it. 🙂

    This is a different version of “Escape” than I’ve heard before.

  19. piwright42 says:

    Neil deGrasse Tyson’s preferred death by black hole kinda scares me. If time dilation becomes infinite at the speed of light and black holes pull matter toward them faster than the speed of light then the moment of death could become eternal to a person sucked into a black hole. Still consciousness could end when you are spaghettified, you know just before the matter of your body accelerates to the speed of light, in which case it would not be so bad.

    After one week only 143 views? What a shame. Couldn’t this video be promoted somehow by other popular channels? I love this video!

  23. musekiteer says:

    Most creationists do not even begin to comprehend what they are denying. They simply deny because their group-think fellows have instructed them to deny. Instead of fearing something that is extremely unlikely to happen in any human lifetime, they fear something that does not even exist and selfishly bargain on something that will never happen. Creationists are proof positive that human evolution has not taken most minds very far into rationality.

  24. teobesta says:

    it’s fatally beautiful isn’t it
    just mesmerizing
    but you can also see from this why creationists would want to stick to their much more reassuring version of things

  27. ZebrasFirst says:

    DarkKnightBob1o1, Oh, and you are funny? Making fun of someone with Parkinson’s is your sick way for a laugh? Oh, yeah, you’re hilarious…not.
    I figured you wouldn’t and couldn’t come up with a name of a snake that is of the species with limbs. Because the ones that do are malformed or a mutation. I suppose you can adjust gloves on them, but you’ll probably get bit.

  28. DarkKnightBob1o1 says:

    @ZebrasFirst take the hint, you’re NOT funny.

    5 seconds on google will answer your inneptitude

  29. ZebrasFirst says:

    DarkKnightBob1o1, What snake has arms? Give the name of the snake.
    You are such a hypocrite. You make a joke. I make a comment and a joke. You judge my humor!! Sorry old bloke, we’re not in the same kind of comedy. I like things that are actually funny, not cruel.

  30. DarkKnightBob1o1 says:

    @DarkKnightBob1o1 lol. YOU of all people would use THAT metaphor when it’s proven that snakes actually have vestigial appendages i.e. arms. OH the irony.

    Not too on the ball today are we. Lol you choose the WORST comebacks.

  31. DarkKnightBob1o1 says:

    @ZebrasFirst well if you can’t grasp basic genetics that a 10 year old can then how are you supposed to wrap your head around basic humour.

    feel free to continue your trollfest.

    I’m sure youtube comments are great for increasing ones view of the world. lol

  32. ZebrasFirst says:

    DarkKnightBob1o1, You make as much sense as gloves for snakes. You make fun of Mr. Fox, I call you a rude piece of garbage, then, you call me racist?! Oh, yeah, that makes perfect sense. Not.

  33. DarkKnightBob1o1 says:

    @ZebrasFirst lol this guy rails on me for making a laudable joke about parkinsons but then proceeds to make a pathetic nobrainer using a specist joke.

    wonder if this dude still thinks the black people should get to the back of the bus.

    Afterall it’s not like WE’RE GENETICALLY LINKED OR ANYTHING IS IT?

  34. ZebrasFirst says:

    DarkKnightBob1o1, All right, that’s it. I’m tired of you. Get back into your cage. There will be no banana treats for you till tomorrow.

  35. DarkKnightBob1o1 says:

    @ZebrasFirst lol sense of humour fail. saw the ‘political correctness’ joke a mile away dude.

  36. ZebrasFirst says:

    DarkKnightBob1o1, You atheists are not only full of it, you’re incredibly insensitive to people with mental, physical disabilities or the like. Uncool. But, I don’t expect anything less from a person who thinks he’s blood relatives with Chimpanzees.

  37. DarkKnightBob1o1 says:

    @ZebrasFirst find me a hard target in the ID movement.

    arguing with creationists is like playing jenga with michael j fox.

  38. ZebrasFirst says:

    LordOfFilth, My Inbox gets filled with Evolutionists trying to “correct me”. Can you please re-ask your question, so that we’re back on the same page? I do apologize and thanks.

  39. LordOfFilth says:

    @ZebrasFirst

    kk I understand.

    Now, please answer the questions I have asked.

  40. ZebrasFirst says:

    LordOfFilth, Yes, I’ve seen almost all of TF’s series. Why would a smart man as him attack the weakest person (VenomFang)? Then, he goes on to “debate” a preacher (Ray Comfort)!! I originally took TF serious, now I just find him amusing.
    I wish for a fair, accurate sit down debate, not who TF thinks will be an easy target.

  41. ZebrasFirst says:

    LordOfFilth, Once again, I just don’t understand you Evolutionists. They have been telling me over and over that “humans ARE apes.” When I say, okay fine! You’re a bunch of apes, you get offended! I can never win.
    My attitude is not bad, you only interpret it to be. “People” is a generalization, “Evolutionists” is a fitting word for TF’s series.

  42. LordOfFilth says:

    @LordOfFilth

    And writing stuff like “your fellow ape brother” in a way to attempt to mock me proves your bad attitude. You know, he is your fellow ape-brother aswell. Humans are primates. 😉

    Have you watched his videos with an open mind and have you really honestly looked up WHY people laugh at creationists? Have you looked up the facts that speak against creationism?

    Oh btw you didn’t answer any of my questions while I have answered the ones you have asked. Please do.

  43. LordOfFilth says:

    @ZebrasFirst

    1. You started off with a bad attitude, adding HAHAHA isn’t nice. I started out trying to have a friendly tone, thought you were a nice guy.

    2. People who have seeked knowledge on their own and looked things up with a critical mind and rational thinking can see that which creationism is, while those who doesn’t do any of that and stick to something that they might reject if they had a more open mind while accusing others to be shortminded. THAT is why PEOPLE laugh at creationism.

  44. ZebrasFirst says:

    LordOfFilth, It’s okay for Evolutionists to mock Creationists, but I’m a troll when I mock you? Haven’t you ever heard of your fellow ape brother, Thunderf00t, who’s made a series of videos entitled, “Why People Laugh At Creationists”?
    It’s not entitled, “Why Evolutionists Laugh..”. TF is incorrectly generalizing and mocking and has thousands of supporters (you?). Yet, you call ME a troll?

  45. LordOfFilth says:

    @ZebrasFirst

    You are a troll in your attitude, no that you disagree with me. Writing stuff like HAHAHA and alike isn’t very humble you know. I have had patience with you my friend.

    Read. Carefully. What. I. Write. Next. Time.

    Tell me, in what way are evolution lying? What are your opinions and facts of how the ostrich got its wings and why do you think chickens can’t fly based on what? And HOW do you know if you’re right, how did you investigate it? Please do tell.

  46. ZebrasFirst says:

    LordOfFilth, Am I a troll because I disagree with you? At least I don’t contradict myself. You said Chickens did fly once, but over a course of “thousands of years”, man’s handling them resulted in them flying only “short distances” today. The evolution of lies.

  47. LordOfFilth says:

    @ZebrasFirst

    Oh I fell for a troll, your so called attitude proves it. Chickens can fly, short distances, yes they can. I did not say that they fly like a heron or a swan, their wings are more built for rapid getaway flight for escaping predators and fly short distances. Seriously, EDUCATE yourself before answering, atleast look at wikipedia or some place! Stop pulling stuff out off your ass, please.

  48. ZebrasFirst says:

    LordOfFilth, HA, HA, HA!! Wild or domesticated, Chickens can not take to the sky, no more than a Penquin or Ostrich. Wings clipped or not.
    I can see it now… A family visits a farm and snap pictures here and there. In one of the photos, the family is all together with Chickens in the background flying high into the clouds. Too funny!

  49. LordOfFilth says:

    @LordOfFilth

    Oh damn I doubbleposted.

    The Dodo had no predators here, so why waste energy to fly when noone wants to eat you? So it must have evolved smaller wings and walked around a lot more – as records say it did. The Dodo wasn’t hard to capture because it couldn’t fly away.

    Maybe you should read on a bit, please, for your own sake. The internet is a WAST base of knowledge. You’ll develop.

  50. LordOfFilth says:

    @ZebrasFirst

    You know, chickens can fly, look things up before making assumptions plz :P. They are social birds and often do not associate humans with great danger, because we have for thousends of years kept them for eggs and meat. Those times when they really can’t fly then we have cut their wings.

    The Dodo on the othe hand, it lived on the island of Mauritius. It is related to the pidgeon, so we can assume that an ancestor of it had wings and flew to Mauritius.
