Did design flaw contributed to the crash of Air France Flight 447?
Question by SugarBethMiddleton: Did design flaw contributed to the crash of Air France Flight 447?
I did some research and it appears the Airbus has been manufacturing the rudder system which is too sensitive and that contributed to the demise of AA Flight 587 in the US in 2001.
Do you believe that’s true?

Absoultely not.
The most likely scenario is that when passing through the thunderstorm, the tiny tubes on the front of the plane got iced up. These tubes are used by the computer to determine the plane’s speed. When these tubes got blocked up, the computer couldn’t read the right speed. The computer thought the plane was going too fast (as a result of the iced up tubes) so it decreased the speed wrongly, making the plane fall down.
A very similar case happened in 1996 by a Birgenair Boeing 757 in the Dominican Republic.
