Q&A: Is it okay to color over your debit card design?

I got a new debit card and it is fugly. I was wondering if it was okay to color over the stupid design as long as I left all of the logos and imprinted stuff showing.

I wouldn’t cause then it will look fake and no one will want to take it. Why don’t you call the bank and see if you can get a better design. You may have to pay for it, but at least it won’t be as ugly right?

It would make it look like a fraudulent card (whether it is or not). As a merchant, I wouldn’t accept the card that had the appearance of being altered.

It’s not a good idea to do it!

Yeah, as long as you leave the rest, it should be fine. I wouldn’t do anything to the back of it. As long as it works, that’s all they care about. It’s none of their business what company you use for credit. As long as they get paid. If they give you a hard time, ask to speak to the manager and prove that it is not yours. Your name is still on it, you will be fine.
