Appendix, and yeah a stronger back would be more optimal. Humans are also very slow.

    The human body wasn’t designed. It evolved to be the way it is through natural selection and evolution. For this reason, we’re imperfect, and on the contrary, our backs and teeth lead to a huge evolutionary advantage. The fact that we can walk upright allows us to travel across virtually any terrain. Our teeth, for example, allow us to eat a very diverse selection of food (eg nuts, meat, plants), without these features the human race would not be where it is today.
