it’s an interesting thought to keep in mind – that the average site lasts only about 2 weeks. It highlights the need to design with the user in mind from the beginning. Great vid!

In a space of a few minutes you have taught me so much. The point you made about function over aesthetics is something I had not considered that much.

    Thanks!

I have written an article on the matter lk-webdesigns.co.uk/blog/standard-screen-resolution-for-2011

  14. llirrem222 says:

@LKenneth89 Sounds fine — all I know is a horizontal scroll bar is coming up on my computer which is at 1024×768 — so I’d advise to go to 950, but that’s my take on it, not yours. Do you have documentation that supports 980 as the standard? If so, please send me links.

  15. LKenneth89 says:

@llirrem222 there is a horizontal scroll bar on this site too. 980px is the standard now.

  17. llirrem222 says:

@LKenneth89 Looks good. You might consider a fixed width of 950 pixels, since, at my screen resolution of 1024×768, (admittedly smaller than many) a horizontal scroll bar is appearing. Just a thought.

  18. LKenneth89 says:

lk-webdesigns.co.uk what you think of my site?
