how old was the bridge?
I hope they rebuilt it with something similar and not just a concrete pos bridge with metal railings.

what most of you don’t know is that this bridge is about 200-300 yards from the river. It goes over a disused railway line. Google Earth it to see its location. The floods were such that the river flooded the flood plain and created another river on the old railway line area!
they were told by health and safety that they wern’t safe enough for public use as they had no railings on the sides.
Called Misers bridge, completed in 1847 ?
why dont the army put up bailey bridges?
