Question by rubber ducky: Why are there so many recalls in 2010?

I do not know if u have realized but we have had so many recalls. Such as kids medicine, such as Tylenol and Motrin and Zyrtec. even allergy medicines. There are also so many car recalls, Toyota and Chrysler. Then we have the McDonald Shrek cups which have cadmium which give cancer. Jewelry such as Claire’s and Miley Cyrus’ Wall-Mart brand also have the same problem! Most of the things we probably use have problems too. What can we do? and why is this happening?

It really seems like there are a lot of recalls lately but they have been going on for a long time but have been covered up. I’m noticing that most of the stuff is from China who in my opinion is trying to poison us purposely a little at a time because “They” want to be the kings of the world. They really don’t have to invade our shores. All they have to do is disrupt our economy by sending crap over here to poison our kids and cause inconveniences in our daily lives. Think about that.
Almost every kind of toy or household equipment comes from China. What easier way to get rid of us slowly. simply my opinion.
edit: I’m not anti-Chinese but it looks obvious to me.

The reason is that under the Obama administration consumer protection is taken seriously and the people in charge of protecting the public actually believe in what they are doing. Under Bush, the companies were more important than the consumer so there were far less recalls, and only those problems with products that got a lot of media coverage were addressed. Unfortunately, this increased consumer protection had not yet reached the agencies watching the oil companies and look what happened. The director in charge of that particular agency is now gone so one can only hope that big oil will get the same oversight that Chinese companies are now under. The point is that the increasing number of recalls means that someone in Washington is finally starting to do their jobs. This phenomenon needs to spread out and encompass all government oversight agencies. Lets hope that the wrong-headed Conservative ideology of no regulation is finally a thing of the past.

recession so companies are trying to find ways to reduce their cost, hence more recalls. when the economy is weak, who gets laid off first? the workers that make the most money. why do they make the most money? because they’ve been around longer so they’re more competent. if they get laid off, then sub-par workers take over, and since they have fewer experience, they’re just not as good at identifying problems that occur.

Did u know? Toyota`s recall hit big news. But actually the number of Toyota`s recall was much much less than GM and Chrysler. Media and politics shows only positive sides, they don`t show the negative side. Media have so much powers.
