Question by Jordan: If a food I ate was recalled over a year ago and I just bought it is it safe?

My dad bought some food; I found out that there was a recall on the same product over a year ago. If this food was in the grocery store as of today, is it safe to eat or does the recall still apply to this (presumably) new product?

It’s a new product. It is safe. If they recalled it they wouldn’t put it back on the shelf. 🙂

Check the product code, lot number, size, purchase or use dates, and or packaging to confirm whether your purchase is part of the recall.

It was most likely one or two batches that was recalled. You are fine now.

Also when there is a recall. The affected product is pulled from the shelves.
