I actually found this very interesting.? Many brickfilms, even great ones, lack subtext. Design Flaw is riddled with it. I think that even if you don’t consciously pick up on the ideas you outlined here, messages of a “greater meaning” to the film are still conveyed.

    >>latest<< (updated, for no confusion). I have ideas festering, naturally, but it will be in the order of years before I can continuously start brickfilming again to build up another film like DF. I may or may not try? to do some short, set-less minifigure animations, but that would be literally all I have to work with in space/etc.

In the description when you say “last” do you mean latest or your final??

you hate lego because they gave you a copyright strike and you go on to Mr. BeanMeiister22’s channel and put? bad commentary on lego now wonder why lego gives you copyright strikes you hate them stop posting bad commentary on lego videos if you hate it why watch videos on it!

  14. MrRailroadrunner says:

Well, I guess I didn’t say this correctly. What I am saying is the 1×1 pieces could be changed to 2×1 if I? understand the design correctly. Make the bricks come into the hallway by 1 brick, so you have 4 studs grasping instead of 2. This again is just my take, but it just might work.

The lack of a rear car is another big turn off with this set, basically you need to buy? two to make a complete train…epic fail lego

That is the best reason I’ve heard so far; it explains a? lot 🙂

And for what this set costs, and for what this set lacks out of the box (no track, no power functions, and so on), it’s sad how LEGO takes advantage of kids (and even adults) when they bring a failed set like this to market. I thought the most important thing was to have a LEGO set be playable? If a set won’t properly stay together for someone like me who mostly just films it them puts it on a shelf, then? how will it ever stay together when a kid is playing with it?

  21. BeanMeister22 says:

    Funny, but true? 🙂

  22. BeanMeister22 says:

I agree that a realistic appearance is very important, but which looks more realistic: a locomotive with the chevrons too far forward, or a locomotive with brick gaps in several? places? I’ll take a look at redoing it again.

LEGO’s big fail here, is that if they were unable to properly design this with the chevrons in the right place, then they should have just resorted to using stickers or decals…and remember, I hate stickers because I can never get them on straight.

  23. MrRailroadrunner says:

Here is the problem. I have view the official french TGV on google. My problem is that the locomotive has the chevrons further back. The reason lego had them further back, is the problem of the looks. To me, I am a model railroader, so every detail sticks out. To me the chevrons on yours look too far forward. I give you credit for the redesign, but you might also try replacing the 1x1s with 1×2 columns all the way up the loco. This is just? my opinion, but I think the set looks decent either way.

  24. BeanMeister22 says:

Yeah, this set is hardly? worth it for half a train, no track, no power function, no controller, and several design flaws.

  25. BeanMeister22 says:

    Hey Moosey, how’ve you been?
And yes, the good old days of trains were better. But something good has come out of all these LEGO trains I’ve bought; it got me interested in HO scale trains again, and I’ve since bought some very cool HO train sets and engines. Also, I’m starting to play around? with low-end G scale trains out in my backyard. So that Christmas train video I filmed in my backyard in the snow a couple months ago, is a sign of things to come 🙂

  26. BeanMeister22 says:

Thanks, and as you can see it’s just common? sense.

  27. BeanMeister22 says:

I agree, the newer track design has some good points and bad points, but what really hurts, is that all these newer train sets cost an arm and a leg. And many of the sets don’t come with track or motors; that’ll cost you extra. And LEGO no longer sells individual locos or railcars; it’s as? if LEGO has forgotten their roots, and treating their kid customers right has taken a backseat to making as much money as possible.

  28. BeanMeister22 says:

..and as always, thanks? for your support.
