I had to think for a second. Older cars you pull the nob out a little. Newer cars you turn the dial a little and you have your parking lights.

First postion of the headlight switch. They put the side, tail, license and front amber lights (turn signals) on. They do not put your low or high beam lights on.

  4. fisherwoman says:

No, they are not headlights. They are small amber colored lights, and will come on if you only turn your light switch once, if you switch it again, the headlights come on. This is in most vehicles, some may vary.

You either twist to hear the click that’s your parking lights or sometimes it’s your fog lights. The older cars have a pull light and the same thing goes for that too, first click are parking lights and pull all the way is your head lights. Not a dumb question I would of asked the same thing if I didn’t know.

  6. Usher says:

Locate the switch which activates your headlights. It should have two positions – one for parking lights and the second for headlights.

Parking lights are designed to be seen only – by other drivers. They are usually yellowish-orange in color and smaller than your headlights. Some vehicles have them beneath the headlights, as well as on the sides of the car.

    Hope this helps.

Parking lights are usually the blinkers but they stay on, alot of the cars now have driving light that stay on all the time and they are the headlights, on most vehicles you turn the know once for parking light and twice for headlights.
