Do you even realize that what you are saying sounds an awful lot like, “here’s a way that we can have a really? poor imitation of socialism, with some of it’s benefits, within a corporate capitalist system” ? You’re getting close. Now take the brave and intellectually honest leap and just advocate for a socialist system. Democracy = Socialism. The US does not yet have a “functioning” democracy. But we will get there.
