Damn this is sad i have the same thing but its a 12′. It still? hits hard as hell its a daily used sub in a ported box. I just uploaded a vid of it with my old ported box i will have more vids of my new boxes soon. My homie brad aka brad builds enclosures just made me to ported boxes with 3′ pvc pipes. One box has 3 20′ ports and the other has 3 30′ ports and they both get loud with 1 12′ type r.
yes , if you look through the comments? someone else tore apart a new one and found the same thing
Are the newer type R’s spider designed the? same way?
yeah i can do that sometime? . just my opinion on what i like and dont like
thx mazda i realy enjoy learn about sub.can you make a vid about parts to a sub that you look for and stay away? from
exactly my thoughts?
It’s an excellent point.
There’s no counter balance to equalize energy dispersion.
I have to wonder who drops the ball on these designs and, is it? actually intentional.
One thought is, it’s a lab geek with no real world experience.
Second thought is, it’s someone that has no formal engineering education be it in the shop or in a school.
Three, and most probable, they know it will shorten the life of the speaker.
I say start asking for people’s dead subs and put focus on these types of videos
yeah i was not 100% if the newer ones also had this design flaw . good to know someone else has also noticed? it on the newer models also
lol it’s true i got a alpine type r 12 blown for 20 bucks on craigslist and when i took it apart and cut the spider i was cutting thru the part of the spider where the lead wires run thru it and it was so stiff and strong that it was actually hard for my knife to cut thru it. i got the? newest 12 model to, model number. swr-1243d. its like brand new to the glue they used under the rubber to glue it to the basket is so cheap. easier then spreading peanut butter on bread taking the rubber off. lol
good video?
Know**?
It’s just cheap china pop shop? speakers. They no they’re not designed to last or be repaired.
i like type r(s) but they are not great at? their peek, more a sq rather then spl
My friend has had the new 2012 Alpine Type R? 12 inch pounding at 1100RMS for about 6 months now. No problems so far.
I have had a 1242d for? 3 years now on 800 clean watts, no problems!
great,im the watchallyourvideos? guy from fb x)
liked!!!!? great vid brad
i wonder if the same goes for the type x…i could? of bought two of them for 250
ive tried the SWR 1242d and SWR 1542D if im not mistaken, and they are both good, the 15″ ive owned it for about 4 years, always put 1000rms on it has? its rated at 750rms. Its taking a beating, no rubbing noise, no coil smell, whatsoever I think there good but i bought some Skars audio VVX 12 recently, love my 12s, love my R too,
I sometimes think that these pos companies? do it on purpose so you buy more and never have a sub for too long…
Get a sundown sa-12 or a Skar audio vvx 12. you’ll be blown away by how great? they sound and how loud they are
Get a Sundown Sa-15 or a Skar Audio vvx 15. They are badass? woofers
That would explain why running them under rms? ratnig I still burnt 8 12s this year lol I wondered about that myself thanx man
video? is up
I still like the? type r. It’s what got me into car audio
