VINTAGE NEWS10: Thruway bridge collapses over Schoharie Creek (1987)

April 5, 2012 marks 25 years since the collapse of the Thruway Bridge over the Schoharie Creek. As the bridge crumbled near Fort Hunter, five vehicles fell into the water that morning back in 1987. Ten people were killed. After an investigation, faulty design and poor maintenance by the state were blamed for the disaster. To prevent future accidents, New York and the federal government have changed inspection regulations. Here is a story we ran on that day. The video contains footage of remaining parts of the bridge collapsing, as well as then-Governor Mario Cuomo commenting on the incident. Airials of the collapse follow the story. DATE: April 5, 1987 REPORTER: Unknown.

I wanted to believe that there were two monsters but nope. The creature is just so damn fast? that he got the the other side in seconds. The helicopter keeps its light on the monster no mater what and you can see the light follow it from one side to the other and then boom the create appears in the back

Just because the monster was seen at 0:50 and 1:03 doesn’t mean there? could be two of them. This is what could’ve happened, after the Cloverfield monster slammed its tail on the bridge at 0:50, it probabaly moved down to the part of the bridge where it was seen again at 1:03.
