Religion: A History of Violence

part 1 of a series I’m going to make. Whenever a creationist ever asks you from where will we get our morals from if there is no god or religion, just simply tell them “We get our morals from your religions history” There’s a creationist by the name of philos71 who asks you for donations on his movies, and i beg you please, instead of giving some regular guy money to continue taking advantage of the doltish nature of the human race and please give that money to children in need www.supportunicef.org

    Quote from George Carlin-“More people were killed under the name of god than for any other reason.”

    @unowien I’ll sum it up for you religion is retarded.

    @AntiVenomFangX Hitler had a Catholic upbringing – whether he remained a Catholic is unclear. When it suited him politically he sometimes said he was but sometimes inveighed against Christianity. He expressed an admiration for Islam but never practised any religion apart from egoism & hatred in his adult life. He had himself proclaimed as ‘Der Deutscher Heilsbringer’ (the German Messiah) & Nazis were required to describe their religious affiliation as ‘Gottglaubig’ (believer in a god).

    @freeman8128

    there are other videos that cover it. hitler admitted that his goals were driven by his faith.

  5. freeman8128 says:

    Nearly all of this was about LONG PAST Christian wars & atrocities (which, as an atheist, I do not deny). It makes brief reference to Viking raids, Nazi & Communist violence – none of which were about religion.
    Apart from the briefest flash about Osama Ben Laden it makes NO mention of the appalling history of warfare, violence, cruelty & oppression PAST & PRESENT that is inherent in, advocated & condoned by the evil cult of ISLAM.

    @truekinggrim You said it!

    @PorkFrog

    i think the ignoramuses tend to be violent. where else is there a breeding ground for the ignorant bigger than that of religion?

  8. PorkFrog says:

    @AntiVenomFangX no, religion is about one person telling another what to do and believe, what’s right and wrong etc, sometimes saying its ‘God’ doing the telling

    and violent people use it from time to time

  9. AntiVenomFangX says:

    @PorkFrog

    you said violence is about power, and religion is largely about power. using your own words religion is largely about violence?

  10. PorkFrog says:

    Violence is not about religion, its about power

    Religion is largely about power, so it’s a convenient vehicle for those who use violence to seek power, but religion is not about violence

    ‘no religion’ does not equal no violence or perhaps even a lessening of violence-those that want power over others will find another excuse or vehicle to use

    the idea that no religion=no wars or violence does not take into account the true motivation behind the unpleasant behavior in question

    some have always wanted more than their fair share, and some have wanted to dominate others-it has ever been thus

    The problem with religion and how it fits into the picture, is that it often facilitates the personality willing to submit to ‘higher authorities’ concerning right and wrong[i.e. ‘God’ as interpreted by men]

    It is easy to see how this plays into the hands of the evil

    but religion is just a tool for those evil men-religion is not the cause

    the cause is their own evil desires for power-an example is Hitler’s rise to power in Germany-he used wounded national pride and desperate financial times-didn’t really use a religious angle at all, and turned Europe into an ash heap

    [for those that want to point to Hitler’s catholicism, Hitler himself said his ‘bible’ was a book written by an AMERICAN, ‘The Passing of the Great Race’ by Madison Grant, a book about eugenics based on Darwin’s work. But we can’t blame religion or Darwin for Hitler-he was just a sick power mad fuck. Darwinian ideas were just a means to an end, not unlike the role religion played in other sad scenarios]

    ” Within the confines of one’s heart, do we not find the freedom of love?
    Not until we lay prostrate and helpless before it do we understand it.”
    -L. Kaliel-

    To this….religion offers nothing but guilt, shame and the opposite of love. WE can’t not lay with swine and expect to not get dirty. Religion must be extirpated from this earth. Not until then can we has humans move forward into the next age of time. It’s time to stop this….the Athiest uprising must start now.

    @truekinggrim

    there is no way to rid the world of racism and sexism. that is like saying we can rid the world of sports rivalries.

  19. truekinggrim says:

    I truly believe that in order to achieve any semblance of world peace, or even just get rid of racism and sexism, we must remove religion. Religion does absolutely nothing for people beyond allowing justification of evil acts. It’s not your god, its you being a psycho. That voice in your head? We all have it, it’s called thinking. If your inner voice is saying kill people, we have a problem.

  20. MrDrunknbass says:

    whats the song that plays at the start

  21. WeWantAnewHitlar says:

    Religions are just drugs which destroy nations and people

  22. VILeonidasV says:

    hey now…..the vikings believed in there own thing and the Christians kept on killing them. The viking raids were payback O.o

  23. jmrut1992 says:

    @AntiVenomFangX it doesn’t offend me, if by psycho you mean insane/crazy, if you think so then thats okay, and I think by definition if you don’t believe in God you aren’t aware of Him, so I’m not sure what the second question means

  24. AntiVenomFangX says:

    @jmrut1992

    does it offend you when i call you a psycho? or do you feel as if im not aware of this omnipresent god?

  25. jmrut1992 says:

    @AntiVenomFangX i see your point, but i think i must clarify, God never tells me anything without explanation and reasoning, he doesn’t make my decisions, he gives me advice that I either listen to or not. I try to listen to everything that makes sense and appears to be truly from God, but always, I do what seems right TO ME. Because as you seem to be saying, and i think i agree, the only way to function is by making your own judgments, not letting others, even God, decide for you
