Question by billybobinbred: Are you afraid of purchasing Chinese made products?
So many recalls as of late. What can a consumer do? Being a capitalist, I believe in the power of the pocket book, but curious to know what others are doing to protect themselves from dangerous consumer products.

no, i’m not. they go though heavy insepction, even though there was glitchs in the past they are now checking for that. the export has been going on for years and i think it is safe to purchuse those items. =]
not too worried, but i try to buy local whenever i can. if i cant, though, im not going to live in fear over it
I’d rather buy American-made, regardless…if something can be manufactured in your country, it should be. None of this outsourcing.
Well, anything can be dangerous in the wrong hands. And unfortunatley sometimes you don’t see the teeny-tiny “made in gwam” sticker until after you purchase.
Most everything on the planet is made in China though isn’t it? I am protecting myself from not doing much shopping.
Recalls show concern. When money can literally “buy a products way” onto the shelves, and keep it there…….don’t you think recalls can be held hush-hush also? I buy Chinese-products all of the time, including food. I have no concerns at this time.
I’m not all that afraid, but I would think twice about any food products, or things like toothpaste. My kids are too old to be playing with the toys that had lead paint, so it’s not something I think about much, but it’s in the back of my mind.
