There seems to be a rash of bridge failures in the recent decade, it’ll be
interesting to see what the federal and state governments will do about it.?

I don’t know where you’re looking, but this is on ALL of the major news
sites – CNN, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News, FOX News, Boston Globe, New York
Times, etc. And just flipping channels quickly it is being mentioned on the
Fox News Channel, CNN, local news (which happened to be repeating here)…
I was reading these articles before you commented and looked up more as
soon as you did just to double-check. So I don’t know where you got this.
I think its much more likely that maintenance has gotten slack. So many
short cuts these days. Nothing is done the good old fashioned way. Everyone
is just lazy. This will probably keep happening.

…. This was reported in all major news outlets. Just because YOU did not
see a report the instant you were looking for one does not mean this media
blackout exists. Your time zone has nothing to do with you believed media

I see the conspiracy nuts are already here. I hate to spoil it, but there
are eyewitness reports of a semi-truck with an oversize load striking the
bridge girders and triggering the collapse. From the King5 site: “I saw the
truck strike the right corner of the bridge. It almost tipped the truck
over but it came back down. It tipped it up to about a 30 degree angle to
the left and it came back down on its wheels and almost instantaneously
behind that I saw girders falling in my rearview mirror.”

My time zone is way off from yours then we right now it is 01:40. I have
checked CNN nothing ABC nothing NBC nothing CNBC nothing FOX cable nothing
yet to see ONE mention of it on any TV at all my only way of knowing this
occurs is via youtube subscriptions.

some of that money could have gone to repairing some of our bridges? We

And yet the federal government has spent more money in the last four years
than ever before. Where’s that money going?
And yet the president continues to endorse the same wars and detention
facility that many other republicans endorse…. You can’t really pay for
infrastructure if you’re paying to destroy another countries existing
infrastructure, to then rebuild it, in the name of democracy. [Back under

Cliches exist for a reason. Let’s see – we already have birther, 9/11,
HAARP, ‘false flag’, claims that the bridge failed inspection but it was
covered up… Yeah, conspiracy nuts. Wingnuts even. The bridge was NOT
structurally deficient. It was “functionally obsolete” – which just means
the design is not up to modern highway design standards; narrow shoulders,
etc. NOT that it had structural issues. And witnesses say a truck struck
the bridge and triggered the collapse – not neglect.
